David Hayes, who will launch a dual attack on the Magic Millions Classic with Red Belly Black and Ebony Rock, has rubbished suggestions that this year's field is poor.

While the trainer is sure both Red Belly Black ($13) and Ebony Rock ($17) can perform well tomorrow, he is not confident he can end his frustrating run of four seconds in the race.

"I keep hearing this is a weak Magic Millions. Well, I have a filly in Red Belly Black who won a Saturday race at Flemington and she's nowhere near one of the favourites," Hayes said.

"I'm sure there will be a good horse or two come out of the race as happens every year.

The standard overall is a little below par this year imo but tend to agree with David Hayes assessment that there will be a good horse or two coming out of the race
