I once wrote to Neil asking his advice on this one.

10 Horse races only

Eliminate the Fav if under $3 (one could perhaps eliminate any horse under $3)

Take the top 4 to win and run 2nd and all the listed horses for 3rd

4x4 x6

I chose 10 horse races because of less opposition

Any less than 10 and the dividend is usually small

My own opinion still remains that the best dividends are from races 5 onwards
