Management
4th February 2010, 05:58 AM
Entries close on Saturday at 1.15pm. Sydney time. Of course you can't tip from any races that have an official starting time of 1.15 Sydney time or earlier!

The meetings you can tip from are:

Ascot
Bendigo
Caulfield
Doomben
Gold Coast
Morphettville
Newcastle
Rosehill
Toowoomba

Please make sure you know the rules before you make a tip in this thread.

Tip a Winner Competition - Cash Prizes
This competition is fun and free to enter each week. All you do is tip a winner from Saturday's races. The person who tips the winner at the best odds of $5.00 or better wins and we'll give the winner a $50 cash prize. So read on ...

Please note: The $50 cash prize will only be deposited in a Sportsbet Australia, (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/__BBFWysCs1Wu11z-n_bVh2Nd7ZgqdRLk/1) IASbet.com (http://record.iasbetaffiliates.com/_sI0vPiEc8mvCHvdJPdAX9GNd7ZgqdRLk/1/) or Sportingbet Australia (http://www.sportingbet.com.au/partners.asp?btag=a_4b_464) bookmaker account as in addition to rewarding the best winning tip we are also promoting these businesses.

1. Each Thursday we will tell you the race meetings held on Saturday from where you can tip your winner and let you know the competition's closing time for the final post.

2. Each person is allowed to tip two horses for the win. When you tip each horse give:

a) The race meeting.
b) The TAB number and Race number of your horse.
c) The name of your horse.

Example:

Randwick
Race 7
Number 1
Melito.

You should ensure that you correctly post the details of a), b) and c) above such as the correct race meeting. For example, if the meeting is at Randwick you should post Randwick, NOT Rosehill. If you post Rosehill then your entry is null and void.

Each person's tips are all in, meaning should a horse be scratched after you tipped it you do not get another tip. That's only fair because the moment you tip a horse means that noone else is allowed to tip that same horse.

3. As you are not allowed to tip the same horse as someone else make sure noone else has tipped a horse you are about to tip before you post it. It's also best to refresh the page after you posted just in case someone else posted the same tip while you were typing it up. If you find out you've tipped the same horse as someone else who tipped it before you then you can make a new post before the competition's closing time.

4. In your new post, where you tip a different horse, you will also need to tell us the number of your previous post (every post in the thread will have a different number) and the user name and number of the post that tipped the same horse before you posted. This post will have a lower number.

5. You are not allowed to tip a different horse just because you've changed your mind.

6. Posts with an edited message at the bottom are not accepted so do not edit your post after it has already been posted by you.

7. The person whose horse wins at best odds of $5.00 or better as published on the Sportsbet Australia web site is the winner. Click here (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/__BBFWysCs1WhJjIwNC_yVWNd7ZgqdRLk/1/results/racing/Date/today) for the results page. If two or more people tie then the prize will be shared.

8. Each week the winner will be posted in that week's tipping thread by the following Friday. We'll aim to make this early in the week. Usually a Monday or Tuesday. We'll also allow 24 hours before we declare correct weight, just in case there's a protest by someone who thinks they should be declared the winner because we may have made a clerical error.

Nice work with Bolle

... you can't tip from any races that have an official starting time of 1.15 Sydney time or earlier!...

...You should ensure that you correctly post the details of a), b) and c) above such as the correct race meeting. For example, if the meeting is at Randwick you should post Randwick, NOT Rosehill. If you post Rosehill then your entry is null and void...
At the risk of sounding like a jerk, don't forget to make sure your selections meet the rules and that your posts are accurate. The Propun team have been very generous in offering up cash prizes for these free competitions, and if we participate, we should do them the courtesy of reading and adhering to the rules so they're not put in an awkward position.

That said, well done Sirpent and Samboss for wins on Bolle, which raced at 12:30pm, and Heartsareforlove, which raced at Doomben, not Eagle Farm. I hope you both had a motza on them.

Nice work on selecting Captain Sonador, Makybe_Diva.

Congratulations to Makybe Diva who wins again. Makybe Diva tipped $9.00 winner Captain Sonador in R8 at Doomben. (Post 3.)

Please note you need to write down the correct meeting. There was a horse tipped at Eagle Farm. The list of eligible meetings is given. We also saw a trifecta tip from Te Rapa which was not on the list of meetings.

Quite some time ago we gave people more time to enter on Saturday. So we think it is fair and reasonable that tips from races that start before the 1.15pm. Sydney closing time, while new entries are still being accepted, are not eligible. In the first line of the first post we wrote, "Of course you can't tip from any races that have an official starting time of 1.15 Sydney time or earlier!"

This means the tip on Bolle which won at $21.00 in Caulfield R1 which started at 12.30 is unfortunately not eligible. Hope you backed it and won a heap on it.

Correct weight will be declared on Tuesday morning.
