Please make sure you know the rules before you box your two trifectas in this thread.
This competition is fun and free to enter each week. You are given two chances to select a winning trifecta from Saturday's races. The person who tips the trifecta with the biggest dividend paying at least $240 (equivalent to tipping a $4.00 winner) as published on the Sportsbet Australia (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/__BBFWysCs1Wu11z-n_bVh2Nd7ZgqdRLk/1) web site wins.
THE WINNER IS GIVEN:
The chance to play for an EXTRA $350 FIRST PRIZE in the next Tip a Winner competition.
That's right - if the first prize in Tip a Winner is $200, then the winner of the previous week's Box a Trifecta can win $550 - that is an extra $350!! The minimum first prize will be a guaranteed $400!!
So read on ...
1. Each Thursday we'll tell you the race meetings held on Saturday from where you can box your trifectas and let you know the competition's closing time for the final post.
2. Each person is allowed to select two box trifectas. Each trifecta can have five horses selected. When you box your two trifectas, for each trifecta give:
a) The race meeting. If the meeting is at Randwick you should post Sydney or Randwick, NOT Rosehill. If you post Rosehill then your entry is null and void. Should your second trifecta not include a race meeting, we will assume it is for the same race meeting as your first trifecta.
b) The race number. If there is no race number those selections are null and void.
c) The TAB numbers, preferably in order, of your five horses. Should you include more than five numbers for any trifecta, your first five numbers only will be used for that trifecta.
To help with reading your entries please place the number of each horse on a new line.
Example:
Moonee Valley
Race 7
2
4
7
9
16
Rosehill
Race 8
1
7
12
14
17
3. Once someone posts their two trifectas, they own any winning trifecta combinations that can be made from the five horses in each race, so when you post make sure you don't post the identical numbers in the same race.
4. Each person's trifecta is all in, meaning should a horse be scratched after you selected it in your trifecta you do not get another horse. This is only fair because once you post your five horses in a race before anyone else in this competition you own any trifecta combination they make in this competition.
5. For each of your trifectas you are allowed to include no more than three numbers anyone else may have included if they tipped a trifecta in the same race. However, should two or more people have the same three horses in the competition's winning trifecta, the prize will be awarded to the person who posted first as per clause number 3. above. You might be quite happy having three horses which were posted by someone else earlier than you, because you might be confident that one or both of your two other horses will be in the trifecta.
DO NOT DELETE OR EDIT YOUR POST
6. We need transparency with everyone entering being able to read what has been posted. You will be disqualified if you alter your post once it is posted (it will then have an edited message) or delete your first post after you have posted it (we will see a post deleted message) and make a new post.
7. Leave your old post as it is and make a new post before the competition's closing time if you find out you've accidentally included three or more numbers in your trifecta that are the same as someone who posted earlier. In your new post, you will need to tell us:
a) The number of your previous post (every post in the thread will have a different number)
b) The user name and number of the post that had three or more numbers in their trifecta tipped before you posted. This post will have a lower number than your post.
c) If you do not provide this additional information your new post will not be accepted.
8. Leave your old post as it is and make a new post before the competition's closing time if you find out you've accidentally posted your Tip a Winner selections instead of your trifecta selections in this thread. In your new post, you will need to tell us:
a) The number of your previous post (every post in the thread will have a different number)
b) Why you are reposting.
c) If you do not provide this additional information your new post will not be accepted.
9. You are not allowed to alter your trifecta because a horse has been scratched or just because you've changed your mind.
10. The person whose trifecta wins at the best odds, paying a dividend of at least $240, as published on the Sportsbet Australia web site is the winner. Click here (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/__BBFWysCs1WhJjIwNC_yVWNd7ZgqdRLk/1/results/racing/Date/today) for the results page. If two or more people tie because their trifectas in different races pay the same dividend then they will each be given three tips in next week's Tip a Winner competition and each tied winner will be playing to win their pro rata share of the extra $300 an outright winner of Box a Trifecta plays for in the following week's Tip a Winner. For example two tied winners will each be eligible to win an extra $150 first prize in the following week's Tip a Winner competition.
11. Please note as it costs $60 to box five horses with $1 units, your winning box five trifecta must pay a dividend of at least $240 using $1 units as published on the Sportsbet Australia (http://record.sportsbetaffiliates.com.au/__BBFWysCs1Wu11z-n_bVh2Nd7ZgqdRLk/1) web site to be eligible for the weekly the prize. This is equivalent to tipping a $4.00 winner.
12. Each week the winner will be posted in that week's tipping thread by the following Friday - usually on a Monday. We'll also allow 24 hours before we declare correct weight, just in case there's a protest by someone who thinks they should be declared the winner because we may have made a clerical error.
13. As a condition of entering this competition you accept that all decisions of Management are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
