Hi Party,

I know like me youve got a thing for the pre post favorite, inspired by a thread of yours ive been keeping some records and trying a couple of things, give me a week or so and ill post some recent stats.

My latest thing is to use them as a back up or to compliment other ratings,it a novel idea and could be the base for a couple of nice systems.

P.S. Wodonga race 9 pre post fav no10 at $3.50,won paying $9.90 and $3.30 the place, massive overlay where the place price is almost as much as the nominated win price, too busy myself but would love someone to record some results and see if there is something worth following here, say bet all double overlays?

Dale,
I think one of the old forumites had a bit of a system along those lines.
From memory it went something like:

*Look at Bookies price.
*If you can get 1/2 bookies win odds for the place then back it. (eg Bookies price $5:00, need $2:50 for the place)

The theory being that you are getting 3 chances of a collect for 1/2 the price of what the Books have it for a win.
You could substitute the Bookies price with the Pre-post price perhaps.

May have been Kenchar's idea I think. Actually speaking of him, I wonder where he finished up?
Think he got sick of all the bickering and fighting.
Very wise old head was Kenchar.

I remember Kenchar,he had a very conservative approach, only bet for the place i think.

Need to run some tests for both double the win price and place price equal to the pre post price...............

Ah.So that was his approach.
I,ve always wondered about that.
Didn,t he get booted off the site for being a pest.

Ark, Ark, Ark, G'day lomaca AND darky, glad to see we still have "HEALTHY" DEBATE.

Actually, I'm one of a very few people that were privvy to Kenchars method and whilst I cannot disclose that, (as it was passed on in confidence) I can tell you that the method described is NOT it.

Kenchar and I agreed on how to approach punting.

I could say a lot more and while I could not care less if I get banned, what good would it do?

What happened, happened let sleeping dogs lie.

OK Lomaca, let em lie, but I can swear that I do NOT lie!

But I CONCEDE THE POSSIBILTY THAT I, or even ALL of the chosen few were "DUPED"

I think it was his idea, but again from memory his real betting system revolved around betting the 3rd or 4th Fav for a place, then stopping once a profit was reached, this being the most important bit.

Jose thats correct as he divulged that to me once.
It must have been successful for him as he started with $10 bets and a week later his bets were a thousand (posted on Propun)

So I guess it may have been

1st - 3rd Fav

Place must be 1/2 of win price.

I cant see many bets coming up with it but I gave him many trifectas and 1st 4,s when I was posting tips under "Uncle Dicks Tip for the ladies "on another forum.
As I recall he was ecstatic and overwhelmed with gratitude.

3rd and 4th fav.Hmm .Makes more sense .
All in all clever thinking on Kens part.

I might adapt it to the Don Scott ratings up to $11.

Bet any that are 1/2 the win price (fixed) for the place.

I,ll post it on another thread under "A darky System."

Cheers

Very astute judge was Kenchar.
