View Full Version : Betfair Automatic Software System

Hi, I was wondering if there is any free Betfair software that will automatically place lay bets for you. Say just straight $10 lay bets upto a price of $10 at the jump or just before?

Betfair SP unfortunately makes you put in a liability of $30 and you cant just set and forget a flat stake!

Please help and thank you in advance!

Not sure but I believe there are some free ones out there.

You can always learn to use the API and write yourself a program like I did.

There are heaps of tutorials and almost ready made scripts to just pick up and use.

I would like to learn about the API they have a free version not sure how good it is.

What is API by the way? BF SP has the downside of a liability as opposed to flat stake laying.

well betting assistant is as good as 'free' & you will be able to do what you desire via integration with excel, & theres a 30 trial to get your feet wet

API = Application Programming INterface. They offer a set of web services which allow people to write programs to interact with betfair.

Its free unless you want to smash it heavily. I find the free version does everything I need. You can get more info at bdp.betfair.com

If one is new the Aurto betting & does not wish to do any technical study.

Its best if one then only targets programs that a simple to use .

Most of them tend to be complicated to set up.

The 2 easiest to use that I have found are BetBotPro & BF Manager.

Cost is 100.00-155.00 depending on choice & lenghth of subscription.

All give free trial runs.

The one I use is BetBotPro

I use java as it gives me much more control then the VB scripting in excel. But I think people should use what they are comfortable with as it will be easier then.

I will see what i can do with excel but will keep Java in mind, i have used some Java in AutoHotKeys scripts.

Hi Shawn

Please be aware that if you do not have any extensive programming experience you may find it difficult to create your own applicaiton which interfaces with the BF API.

I am trained as an applicaitons developer and I have been creating a BF Bot to lay my selections on the UK races of a night time. It has taken me the better part of a month and a half of 2-3 hour blocks each afternoon after work to get it to a point where i am about to do live trails with it.

I'm sure the Excel option would suit most people but i'm sure it will still require some sort of VBA code in the background.

Anyway just my 2cents worth.

I could quite easily write a bot to interface with Betfair, but simply, my time is more valuable than wasting it on reinventing the wheel, specially when it only costs about a $100 a year to use something already existing.

Good luck with it, all knowledge gained is good, but I would concentrate on automating the selection process or data gathering
instead, would leave more time to do what's really important.

Good luck

Good luckAlready done all that ;)
My bot is a little different to the commercially available ones as it links in directly with my pre-built systems and data mining application and bets on the selections automatically without me having to lift a finger. It also has some built in logic to try and beat the starting price odds available.

Hi, I dont know if anyone use Betfair Assistant but if you do. Can you please advise if you are able to just set your lay bets on Aus races with a limit price and it will just lay upto that price at say the 30 seconds before jump?

Is this how it works? Say jsut a flat stake not a fixed loss liability ike damn SP?

Hopefully someone can shed some light please. and thanks!

Should do what you were originally after.

That program is not exactly a bot but would be regarded as the best program for betfair if you are happy to watch the races, it will do almost everything that the other programs offer including betting under the minimum betfair price of $5 it is a very good program for traders as well.

I have a commercial bot in development due for release in late July or early August. It will have a free version that will allow automated betting into Betfair, TAB's etc and the paid version will have a few features currently not available with any commercial bot.

Thanks for all your advice on these.

Do you have to have the software going and PC on or can you jsut set the software up and log off and it will fire into Betfair? Or do you have to keep the PC on and software running and still be at the PC?

Betfair SP you just place and log off and come back later if you know what I mean.

Thanks!

I'm not sure about the rest but with the bot I'm using (BF Bot Manager) you have to have the computer on and the bot on and logged into betfair

I tried Bet Assistant. Runs out after 30 days. Just really need the auto lay triggering. Nothing too fancy.

There are a number of ways to bet without tying up your pc.

1. Get a dedicated old pc and hook it up solely to operate and leave your main pc free.

2. The way I do it, I have access to an old print server at another company.
I can remote desktop to it from anywhere in the world, so the further benefits are obvious ;)
Running a bot on it takes very little extra resources, so their print server functions without interruption.
I'm the IT administrator for the company and have permission for this operation.

Funny someone said the same thing to me today :D

It all started because I didn't want the job and they were in a real mess, so I just negotiated private use of their servers for my own purposes in return for getting them stable.

Chrome,

How much Provincial & Country data does the Race Census have in it? The RC I have has only Metro data (not updated since Sep 09). Does the non-Metro data go back to Jan 1 2000 as well?

Do I just need to update my version of Race Census or purchase a new one to get the Prv & Country data?

Hi, I've just downloaded the geekstoy software but can't for the life of me work out how to set limit orders. Where these orders lay a runner at 10 seconds before the event at a set price flat stake.

Does anyone know or offer any advice on this if you have this free application?

Hi Mark
Its got me beat how anyone gets that Geek thing to work.

They should call it pain in the as s

It seems very unstable so I gave up on it.

----------------------------------------------------
Hi Beton,
Its very common for Norton to conflict like that, with a lot of racing programs.

It played up terrible on me when running various racing programs in the past ,so I swapped it over to AVG & everything works perfectly & runs much quicker.

Maybe ring Norton & they will walk you through the process to make it accept that program.

Shaun

Better still uninstall Norton before they send you a virus and get a good antivirus that works like avast, it is not the only good one there are others and they are free, avoid AVG as it will bog down your system.

Hi marksto2, I have used The Geeks Toy but I have no idea about limit orders 10 seconds before the off. It is a trading application. It sounds like you might need a bot.

If you want to bet on something with the geeks toy you can set it to take the starting price (SP) for either your bet amount or set to liability. You would simply put your lay order in under the current odds (or back bet above the current odds) and have the SP button checked (there should be 3 buttons - cancel, keep & SP). If your set up to lay to liability then you should be right. Try it with small stakes (you can bet under the minimum $5 amount with it - even 1c if you want).

The SP option is for horse racing (not for greyhounds and not sure about other sports).

I second that Avast is good, Norton and AVG bog down your system and Kaspersky is just plain annoying with gazillion prompts about safe processes!

Hi Chrome
You are saying that AVG bogs down systems , can you say what its behavior pattern will be so I know what to look for .

I use AVG & have not experienced any problems.
I like it because it can do automatic scans at 3.00am for me, every day.

Maybe I should swap to Avast
Can that be set to auto scan each day or does it have to be activated manually each day.

I am seriously thinking of subscribing to “THEBETENGINE”. Only because it’s been said it has the best features, however most of these I won’t be using and it appears to be quite complicated. If someone can point me in the right direction to any free bot that I can do the following I would greatly appreciate it, or help with these couple of questions. <O:p></O:p>

I have read thebetengine PDF document and I’m still unsure of a couple of points.<O:p></O:p>

1. Does it interface with Australian races when I’m logged into my Australian BetFair<O:p></O:p>

account? I presume it does but I can’t recall that it’s stated in the document anywhere.<O:p></O:p>

<O:p></O:p>

2. Will it allow me to set the favourites price range of say between $5.40 and $6.00 and have it bet that favourite and the next two or three in favouritism?<O:p></O:p>

<O:p></O:p>

3 Will it allow the bets to be set a few seconds prior to the off?<O:p></O:p>

Why not contact the authors of that program.

If they dont respond , you better not have anything further to do with them because all Bots require a back up service.

I find it just slows the whole system down compared to Avast specially if you have an older system or less than 1 gig of mem.

Avast will runs scans for you every day or the days you choose at times you choose and if the pc is off it will run them when it starts next, it will update itself and scan your mail and also scan processes so if you go to a bad site and something tries to load to your system it will stop it dead.

Updates are often daily or when needed, there are many free programs out there but this one will run smoothly even on a low grade netbook.

Hi Mark,
A friend of mine suggests changing the 2x to 1x as he got far better lay strike
rate.
131/137 lays
95.62% lay strike rate ( average pay out 1 in 22.83 lays )
current lay win sequence 50.
this was tested in Bet Selector with no odds cap, from 1/1/11 through 1/5/11

Will be interesting checking with your odds cap of $10 using the Betfair lay odds?.
Today's bets using the 1x are
1.27pm PAK R3-6
1.48pm QIR R2-2

Will the current win sequence of 50 be finally be stopped today?.

My betting method I dont usuallyknow my bets till 20 seconds before advertised jump.

I need something where I can eneter my stake, select the number of horses to bet, and then it automatically calculates the stake for each given the current odds, and then places the bet. I dont have the time to work out the correct stake and then adjust each one individually.
