Cranbourne Race 8

3 PROVEN PUZZLE $3.6 - 2nd best dog in the Race
8 SPECIAL COLOUR $4.1 - probably the best animal in the race, but needs to get to the rails safely
6 DOYEN STAR $5 - has run a couple of good races lately, including last start , and seems to have suffered no ill effects from the recent fall, where it was travelling really well
5 SASSY GUESS $7 - An unknown to me with a terrible box.Looking at its Form shows it ain't run for a few months, but it is a very capable performer.Kel Greenough has it, and means it must be a chance.
7 ARVO'S FLORENCE $12 - ran a good race a few starts back, but most of its runs are way below par.slow beginners tend to have few good runs
1 QUEEN EUPHORIA $33 - only ain't last because of the box draw
2 POWER FULL $66 - something must be rated in this position
4 LITTLE FIRE $100 - dunno this one and has terrible box.Form says NO

Turning that lot into a Wager means we can eliminate the Bottom 3 selections.
To be sure of a Collect , heres what I came up with

FlexiTri
3,8,6,5 - 3,8,6,5,7 - 3,8,6,7,5 for $20 worth

But if a bloke had any brains at all, he'ld pass on this one.
Because to get anywhere, you need to get Overlays, and this bet is more a suck it and see Wager.
The only thing going is that the Numbers are unfashionable, apart from the #8, and maybe #3.

2 REGAL BABE $4.2 - Consistent performer very well boxed
5 COMMON COLD $5 - Poor box , but does begin well
7 BARNEY'S PRIDE $6.5 - Needs to lead from out there, and could well do it
8 FAST TRACKED $10 - don't know this one but Form says it has some chance
1 BORZOV $10- not quick enough to get box advantage
4 COSMIC SNOW $12 - Poor box
6 VOCAL EXIT $14 - poor box
3 INFURIATION $16 - needs further

The key to this Race is to always bear in mind its only 311 metres, and what you see after the jump will be pretty much what you will see as they cross the line.
The Odds I have here suggest that my ability to work out the beginning needs help.

Regardless, the suggested wager would be to back the Overlay from the top 3 selections, plus Exactas boxing up the top 3 selections .

But again, there will be much better betting Races than this one.

I don't know most of these dogs.
I'm using this Race as a test to see if I have any ability at Form Study.

The only animal I really know is #6 Jersey Bale, and appears to be panels of class and quality better than these.
Only reason it don't win by many many lengths , is the race is 100 metres short.

The Trifecta must come from this.
6 - 8,2,5 - 8,2,5

and barring Falls , so should the First 4

I'll out $4 on FlexiTri and $2 on FF.

Just about to declare Allen Lennox until I saw it back from injury, and is up a kilo from the weight in that race.

Usually that means it ain't fit yet, but I still think it will win for Graeme Bate, who set for a HUGE Night

Surely there are only 3 animals capable of finishing in the placings?

6 SAND BURNER
4 BLACK VIKING
8 LASTING EFFECT

Box Trifecta for a Unit
