Gutsy effort God Has Spoken top ride Steven Parnham but Western Jewel finished too well
Young Kyra Yuill created history by becoming the 1st female jockey to win the race & only the 3rd apprentice to win the staying feature

Guyno did it last year so you would think Western Jewel a decent chance

Unplaced today in the Australia Day Cup, think Western Jewel would have him covered ;)

On the subject of Guyno, the evergreen stayer is close to resuming after bouncing back from a severe bout of colic which almost claimed his life. The Bunbury Cup & Pinjarra Cup are his likely aims.

Thought Guyno had retired after being injured his last start (Adelaide Cup)
Very surprised he is back in work with the colic attack as well

Didn't see the race, ran 5th Mornington Cup today. Slow to begin according to the stewards report. Guess she would have been doing her best work late.

Since seen the replay, thanks kiwiz. 54.5kg in the Adelaide Cup. Runs tomorrow, Roy Higgins Quality, predicted wet track probably no help.

Yeah looked home jake, but the weight difference told.
Western Jewel not sighted! Where to from here, the handicapper at home will have her measure, most likely.
