Try using...
Spyware Terminator (Free)

Its very good at detecting & removing such things including the very difficult to detect Malware programs which now proliferate.
These can create all sorts of havoc.
Malware can be very tricky to detect & remove if you dont have the right program to detect them.
They have even been known to block you out of any site that even discusses removal of such malicious programs.

The thing I like about this software is how it automatically runs itself each day & how very fast it is.
It is considered to be one of the best & fastest , paid or unpaid.

I also use the free...
AVG for Virus detection & removal also runs automatically daily .
Also
CrapCleaner (also known as CCleaner)
This cleans up your registry & makes it run faster without affecting any of your programs.
I run this once ever 2 months.

The modem I use is...
Netgear
considered to be one of the 3 best one can use, which automatically changes its Firewall code every 20 min.
Thus making it very difficult for hackers & viruses to attack your computer.

Tip:To protect email address book.
Set up a bogus email in your address book starting with a name like AAAAaardvark @ hotmill ect
So that its at the top of the list of addresses.
That way, if it happens again with a Trojan ,you will be notified that this email could not go through, It will automatically stop any other emails from being put through by that Trojan because the system stops if the first email address does not go through & will notify you as such.
This tells you that a Trojan is in the system.

You could then run say AVG to have Trojan removed.

I must say that since running....
Spyware Terminator for spyware
AVG for viruses
Netgear Modem
CCleaner
I have rarely had a Trojan attack or Virus get through to do damage, in years.

I used to get hit all the time using other Programs & Modems .
Its real pain when it happens.

Yeah , you can do all that.
Or the simplest way to prevent it all is to stop visiting Porn Sites.
It worked for me.I ain't had a virus for over 12 months.
