I've been looking at Unitab's ratings for small fields after seeing U.B.'s figures.
The rules I've used are:
1) Fields from 6 to 10 runners.
2) Unitab ratings of 96 to 100 points.
3) Maximum of 4 selections in the race, any more and it's a no-race.
I can't filter the fields for rule 3 with U.B.'s data base, but without this filter U.B. shows a minimal profit, which isn't discouraging.
On Saturday the figures for the above method are: outlay of $105 for a return of $106.10.
On Sunday the figures are: outlay of $43 for a return of $66.50.
These results are using Unitab divvies. It also seems Place betting wasn't too bad even though I haven't complied the results.
If anyone's interested today's selections are:
Scone
1/ 6, 7
2/ 1, 10
3/ 3, 4, 6
5/ 1, 2
Kilmore
6/ 2
7/ 1, 2, 9
8/ 8, 9
