Betfair best question

Betfair have a page where you can get the best dividend of all 3 totes plus top fluctuation or something.
Lets not worry about the fluc thing , and lest just say it was the best of the 3 totes.
They also have a middle tote where the dividend is the 2nd best of the 3 tote dividends.

Now I'm obviously missing something.
Could someone explain , or send me to a web page , and why would I take the middle tote wager , when I can get the best tote wager?

Hi moeee.
I think Middle Tote is the best you can get when Best Tote is not on offer e.g. most provincial and country race meetings.
But could be wrong.

So both those bet types are not avialable at the same time on a particular race.
