Hello everyone. Anyone can tip you the favourites, Big Pat, Ethereal and Sky Heights so I'm looking for horses at big odds that could run huge races. Well, here I go.

What's wrong with Persian Punch apart from being a nine year old? The horse doesn't know that anyway.
When it last came here in a stronger Cup field, Persian Punch nearly won but for bad luck.It is the best 3200 metres horse in the race with 5 wins. It is also racing in the best form of its career. If the track becomes rain affected it won't mind either.

Celestial Show put in a massive run in last year's Cup. The mare is in great form and nearly won the Caulfield Cup. Carrying only 49kg. it must be a great show at huge odds. Rhys McLeod is not too bad as a jockey either - he also rode it in the Caulfield Cup. Don't listen to people telling you it needs a dry track - the track was Slow for the Caulfield Cup.

Spirit Of Westbury has not put a hoof wrong. This 6 year old gelding put in a beauty at Flemington from barrier 17 on Saturday. Finished second to get into the Cup. Maythehorsebewithu beat it by a whisker and seems to be getting a bit of a following. Spirit Of Westbury meets it 3 kilos better. Shane Dye wouldn't be making the overseas trip to ride it either just so he can renew acquaintances with the other jockeys.

If the track really becomes rain affected, and who knows with Melbourne's weather, then John Hawkes' trained Freemason at huge odds could be interesting. Even though it has run some good races on top of the ground it is lengths better on rain affected going.

Hope this gives you something to think about. Anyway, whatever you like in the Cup, go for it. The Cup is the one race where everyone is entitled to be a form expert.
Good luck.
Lucky Lil.

PS.
I will be posting my lays of the day tomorrow morning by about 10.30.
On Derby Day I gave five short priced favourites to avoid. They all lost.
