It's rare I Lay the Field of 10 runners or less.

So yesterday I had a look at races with 6 to 10 runners.

If the selections that were single figures on Betfair's exchange (the Win section) were bet S.P, then the results were:

77 selections from 19 races for a return of $95.49 - this is a POT of 24%. The results from each venue were:

Mt Gambier
Outlay of $23
Return of $32.00

Ballarat
Outlay of $13
Return of $14.69

Hawkesbury
Outlay of $17
Return of $19.47

Pinjarra
Outlay of $5
Return of $4.66

Rocky
Outlay of $19
Return of $24.67

From the 19 races the winner was struck in 18 of them.

I also looked at quinellas. From the 19 races there were 16 that were successful.

The outlay was $121, and the return was $173 (Unitab divvies) for a POT of 42%.

Even though there's been only 19 races the results are not unimpressive, especially considering the low numbers of runners per race. Obviously the strike rate is quite high as would be expected.

I'd take yesterday's results with a grain of salt. I won on 20 of the 21 AUS races worked yesterday. Pinjarra R10 was the let down. Similarly UK last night I worked 16 races and won every one.

Just a rare purple patch.

I've now checked Wed's results using the Win and quinella methods as detailed in the first posting of this thread.

Wednesday was not a good day.

The Win outlay was $82 for a return of $88.74 for a POT of 8%, even though a win is a win.

I'm not really surprised at the high strike rated because of the few runners per race, however I am surprised at the high S.P. divvies especially when compared to the TAB.

The quinella outlay yesterday was $146 for a return of $154.

If I am at my computer I'll probably give it a go today.

Yesterday both my 2 Lay the Field bets were profitable. There are six qualifying races today which I've already layed.

Pinjarra R10 was the let down.

Sorry Pinjarra R9 not R10.

Are you laying or betting?

Pinjarra R9 was one of my two Lay the Field bets.

Laying all those Michael. It was something like 70 horses layed (AUS and UK)for one $7 loser. In the office at the moment and don't have the figures at hand.

Not a bad day. From the 16 races there were 58 selections for 14 winners.

From the outlay of $58 there was a S.P. return of $70.83 for a profit of $12.73, or a POT of 21%.
