Based on UselessBettor Test my system and using a few others opinions a good little system with some nice results were based on using Don Scott = 1 and barrier 5+ and some other filters.

Is this an example of mixing indepedent variables due to the fact that the Don Scott ratings are actually calculated based on points and certain points in the final rating are deducted for bad barriers and bonuses for good barriers.

Essentially you are changing the weights of the ratings?

Of course you are, and the more filters you personally add to a Ratings system with the same criteria, the worse it gets.

With some of your posts, I just don't understand what message you're trying to convey. Our 'disagreements' may be simply ineffective communication.

I think instead of using Don Scott = 1, Barrier 6+ and Days last start less than 14, you would be better off using CP = 1.
