Hi Barny,
I,d stick to the TAB 1st +2nd Fav.
There,s no way I,d bet the 1 @ Horsham.
Stick to Box 1 + 8

Mind you there,s a very good OMEN bet in Dog 3.(If your into that sort of thing.)

From Whom? He,s not just a pretty face ya know.

Cheers

darkydog, did you mention someimte ago that Blackwell was one of the tipsters in a newspaper ?? If that's right, then his breeding as a tipster is second to none and could be used here.

Brian used to half own PPM.
One of Australias best Greyhound punters.
Not sure whether he writes for any newspapers now though.

Oh by the way disregard the asessed price as greyhounds are always "Unders" in a TAB market.

With TAB win pools generally around the $600 - $1000 TAB,s are very risk averse to anything likely to have any chance.

Hi DD. So the selection is Horsham race 4 no 1 (if it's 1st or 2nd fav)? Is this correct?

Yep.

Maybe there's something to this omen betting.

Al's Dream won race 6 at Queanbeyan paying $18.90 on Victab.

Al's short for my first name and I did have a dream last night. Unfortunatley it wasn't about betting on Al's Dream. :(

Darky for tomorrow check out Wyong 6 h1. A Waller horse backing up after 4 days with Nash aboard. Chris has three horses in this race over 1600m. Guarantee the one of the other horses will put some speed into the race to allow Horse 1 a chance from the wide barrier.

Surprise Surprise NR6 H1 is scratched.

The Horse had 59kg.
The other two Waller horses had 54.5kg and 54kg and now become the highest top weight.

I wonder if Mr Bollinger the horse scr with 59kg wasn't nominated how the other horses weights would have released. I don't think the handicapper would have gave the top weight 54.5kg.

Something like the Price Gap between Fav and 2nd Fav on the asessed price of a good service.

Gees I,ve let the "Cat out of the Bag" now.

But hey.My lifes purpose is ta help the ""Battler" get ahead.

Being a old "commo" from way back I,m all for the distribution of wealth.
(From the bookie /TAB preferably to my bank a/c)

Here is a "laying" method for those inclined.

Lay Boxes 4 + 5 (The squeeze boxes).
4 + 5 are the worst boxes in Greyhounds.

Helpful to know mate, thanks... wasn't aware.

What I have noticed however is that when box 5 does get up - the divvie tends to be significant.

How can you possibly bet on the country dogs ?? The pool is about 5 quid tops .....

I,m inclined to agree .
The dogs generally a waste of punting space.
Thats the main reason I switched to Gallops in the late 80,s.
I cant see them remaining much longer.
Mind you there,s still a profit in them when picked right.

Hey Barn.Wheres me grand for Tipping "Kirrabilly Darcy"

G'day Darky,

Have seen your 'set of pearls' around the traps on box 1/8 then 2/7

Given 1/8 dominates, how or when to play 2/7 ?

Also, what do you make of this somewhat loose logic...

1. If 1 is a short fav, box 8 is the value play
2. If 8 is a short fav, box 1... etc
3. 5 is an each way play in scenario 1 or 2

You're completely igorning the ability (or lack thereof) of the dog LG. To back a winner at the dogs you need to do a speed map, ascertain what habits the dog has ..... wide runner, railer, so you can work out where the "clear runs" are, and it must be up to the grade it's competing in. If it's up in grade then usually it's going to have a couple more for company going to the first turn.

Good input Mr Rubble - logic looks sound.

Have seen this approach elsewhere on here (or a variation on it) but not a record of consistent winners as far as I can see from the wash up at the end of a evening's card.

Have you managed to carve out a profit in this way?

LG, I just don't believe you can win at the dogs without a minimum of watching replays ..... end of story. I wouldn't touch the country dogs with a ten foot pole !! Yoiu're talking to a bloke who used to go to the dogs 4 to 5 times per week for 15 years ..... I know what I'm talking about actually.

Thanks Barny, I believe you mate.

Wasn't looking to win or make a killing on the dogs in particular - just interesting in different viewpoints, including yours.

Cheers LG
