THE FIRST 4 FAVORITES ON TRACK WIN APPROXIMATELY 73%OF ALL RACES SO I WOULD HANDICAP EVERY HORSE BUT BE MORE CONCERNED BETTING WISE WITH THESE HORSES.
SAYING THAT THOUGH THE TRICK IS TO CAPTURE THOSE GOOD HORSES THAT ARE OUTSIDE THE RANGE.
THE BEST CHANCE OF SUCCESS IS BETWEEN 2/1-11/2.THIS IS THE PROS BREAD AND BUTTER.OUTSIDE THE RANGE IS THE CREAM.

G'day darkydog 2002,

The inimitable Don Scott emphasised that if you could get the best fluctuations of all starters between the odds of $2.50 to $4.50 then you could not lose.
Well, things have changed since his day but there is still merit in this philosophy

Cheers.

In similar vein I always include a close review of any last start beaten favs when analysing a particular race. Especially if at good odds in the current event.

Have a look at the steward report when beaten fav and also for any subsequent jockey / gear change.

There is an old adage ‘where there’s smoke there’s fire’ and you can often snag a good priced winner / placegetter, using this little strategy.
