Good day y’all,
I trust all of my fine forumite friends are in the rudest of health!!!
Bet you were all missing your mate Schmiley, no!! :)
Well I'm back from New York City, refreshed and ready for a HUGE second half of 2013!! I had a chance to spend a few nights at the British Consulate to end our trip, which was an absolute delight!! (Apologies for the shameless name-dropping but it was simply, AWESOME!!!)
Any-hoot, enough rambling, let's have a crack at a new system I like to call the 'Tina Turner'........
Why? You ask, well as cheesy as it is, this one is SIMPLY THE BEST and let's face it, from all accounts, Ike Turner was a pretty ordinary fella! I'd only ever consider naming a LAY system after him….
---------------------------------
THE RULES:
1/ Use racingandsports.com.au/form-guide
2/Good, dead, slow tracks only (if slow, horse MUST have won IN SLOW)
3/ Minimum class of race BM70 or c3 (see Garyf's posts)
4/ Distance range 1000-1800m
5/ Horse must not have won last 2 starts
6/ Selections are chosen as follows:
- The lowest DS price
- The highest CP price
- The horse with the highest recent rating figure (50d)
**Note: Rule 6 covers all meetings for the day, so for instance using the DS price, it's the lowest DS price IN QUALIFYING RACES over all meetings for the day. This should leave us with a select band of neddies to peruse further.
Today’s qualifying races:
Townsville 3,4,6,7
Gosford 6,7
Today’s qualifiers:
DS- Townsville 4-5 Strato Mostro - $2.45
CP- Townsville 4-1 Chew The Fat - 41
RRF- Townsville 7-8 Fast ‘n’ Ferocious - 36
**End note: There were two qualifiers for the DS and RRF fields that didn't qualify at Gosford as they had not won in the slow. I used the next best qualifiers in the good conditions prevailing at Townsville.

I'd rather have a lay system named after Tina. Didn't like Ike much.

Hi T.S.
Welcome back good to see you fit, healthy, and rarin to go.
With my grading of races into "GOOD AVERAGE POOR"
The (class=3)(bm=70=>) average betting race these were for all ages.
Races of this class or better that were age related were classed as poor.
So "Gosford Race=6 although a B.M. =70 is restricted to F+M thus,
Becomes age related and for me would not be bettable.
Good luck with it all.
Cheers.
Garyf.

Hi mate,
Hope you're well and the jump shots are 'swishing' through the basket!
I forgot your no F+M races rule, one which I think is a bottler!!
I came up with this idea on the fly, so some refinement is still required.
I was looking for a starting point for the time-poor punter who wants a quick way to sift through the chaff.
I'm now strictly a Saturday only punter, mostly Sydney/Melbourne and traveling north on occasions such as this when the racing is at its best in QLD. I find it gives me more time to really assess the form with the early nominations. Coming up with system ideas is a fun hobby!!
Hope you're still hitting them for six Garyf!!

"Jump shots swishing through the basket"
Sadly a fading memory (L.O.L.)
My days at M.S.A.C. are now refined to refereeing and teaching others,
I am still coaching in state league.
The punt has taken on a different course, doing the form, videos, downloading ratings doing markets etc after 5> years while very profitable has burnt me out.
I am now involved in using a set of ratings and applying mechanical filters,
To bet on.
While this is still 7 days a week the workload and stress levels are much better.
Cheers.
Garyf.

Time catches up and marches on, no!
Coaching is a great way to pass on your legacy, though!!
I know what you mean by burning out with 7 days a week racing! I was by no means a professional punter but was spending way too much of my time on the punt and neglecting my other passions.
May the filters keep producing Garyf!!!

Not being one for Honest toil myself there is no danger of me being "Burnt Out" on the punt.
Have a look at the Ripsnorter Lay system.- 10 minutes work at most.
Cheers

My new bride is an absolute DOLL!!
It took me a LONG TIME to find this one after many false dawns!.......
The honeymoon really was like a dream. Nothing like a bit of travel to open up the eyes and refocus on the really important things in life!!!!!

Yesterday's results:
SR 1/3
PL Tatts - 0.8 / BF SP - 0.47
RP -1
DS -1
RRF + 1.2 / + 1.53
It was a big finish to the day, with Fast 'n' Ferocious being backed in from $3.60 to $2.20, so early shoppers would've made a profit.
Nothing conclusive thus far, I'll have today's selections once scratching a are in.

Qualifying races:
Doom 4,6,7,8
Belmont 7
Today's Qualifiers:
DS DS Doomben 7-1 $2.35 I'm Cool Fixed odds $2.8/1.36
CP Belmont 7-10 Star of the Orient (35) No Fixed
RRF No qualifiers
Two bets today for Tina. The first, I'm cool, has been racing in impeccable form and is trained by one of my favourite QLD trainers, Desleigh Forster. She's really starting to make her mark. It has only placed twice from two third-up efforts, however one was a 0.1L second to the handy Someday and the other was a 2.5L third to Whitlam and Maroney Avenue, which is strong form for a midweeker.
The second horse is Star of the Orient, who has won first up previously, albeit that was after two trials. It goes into today's assignment with one trial under its belt where it finished 4L off them. The interesting runner for mine in this race is Elite Belle, who ran some lovely races in listed company last prep and is one to watch. If the pace went stupid, could easily figure in this, however 16-1800m appears to be ideal. It won a recent Pinjarra barrier trial.
Have a magnificent day one and all!!

**Note: I made a mistake with the Belmont race, as the ratings are based on the 50d rating and the horse is first-up. So that's it for today.

It appears all roads today lead to the Country & Western capital of Australia, Tamworth. Let's change genres for a moment and do this for the great Slim Dusty!
Today's selection:
DS Tamworth 4-5 Cristal Beauty $1.35
CP Tamworth 4-5 Cristal Beauty (41)
RRF Tamworth 4-5 Cristal Beauty (41)
Being nommed by all three methods makes me feel a little nervous in the value stakes, as most ratings methods would probably have this one on top. G. Ryan rides which is a massive tick.
Only one more sleep until Saturday......

One from one at $2.80 on Tatts.
Today's results:
SR 1/1 Running SR 3/5
PL Tatts + 1.8 / BF SP + 1.18
Running PL Tatts + 2.4 / BF SP + 2.04
CP + 0.8 / 0.18
DS + 2.4 / + 1.41
RRF + 3 / + 2.71
Cristal Beauty did the business by a neck. I'm liking this approach to midweek punting, even just to quickly get a short list of horses together, which one then analyses further.
I'm going to stick to Benchmark/c3 & up races for this method and exclude open handicaps and group/listed races, so tomorrow's qualifying races will be:
Eagle Farm 2
Rosehill 7,8
Gold Coast 6,7
Newcastle 5
Townsville 6

Still very early days but a good start.
The wet tracks have wreaked havoc with selections and left just one standing again today.
Today's selection:
DS Townsville 6-6 Seeyasoon ($2.70)
Seeyasoon's record doesn't exactly make one brim full of confidence. I personally won't be backing it but will include it in the results.
At Rosehill, Race 8 no. 19 Mighty Lucky almost made the cut, with a RRF of 49 and a quality run at Gosford 3 runs back, coming 2.9L 6th in a listed event. Perhaps worth an each-way ticket at $8.50 but I'll leave it out. Mickelberg also had a crack at the title with a fantastic run last start and an RRF of 49 also.

I was concerned that Seeyasoon was a perennial placegetter and my fears were realised, as it ran 2nd.
Today's results:
SR 0/1 Running SR 3/6
PL -1
Running PL Tatts + 1.4 / BF SP + 1.04
CP + 0.8 / 0.18
DS + 1.4 / + 1.41
RRF + 3 / + 2.71
I'm busy tomorrow so won't be able to post but the qualifying races are:
Ballarat 5
Murwillubah 5
Kalgoorlie 4
Launceston 9
Wingatui 2
Toowoomba Cushion 4,6,8 (I'll be putting the cushion tracks on trial moving forward)

Tina's back with a flurry today!!
Selections:
DS/CP Grafton 6-1 Floral Insight $2/58 // $2.30 fixed
RRF Swan Hill 6-4 Riziz 54.5 // $5 fixed
A return to Dead track surfaces sees Floral Insight as a dual DS/CP selection and Riziz the top RRF.
Hope everyone has a magnificent Friday.

Paid $3.30 on Tatts.

Riziz did the biz!
Today's results:
SR 2/2 Running SR 5/8
PL Tatts + 6.4 / BF SP + 6.05
Running PL Tatts + 7.8 / BF SP + 7.09
A lovely way to chime in the weekend with Floral Insight $3.3/2.9 and Riziz $6.1/5.9 both getting up. A gallant win by Floral Insight with 62 kg's!!
Have a lovely afternoon.
