View Full Version : A quirk of Betfair in running

If a horse is scratched behind the barriers BF often don't remove it from the betting. After the race the usual deductions are made. However, here's the quirky bit. If you bet in running you get the prices shown on the screen (with the scratching still there) and no deduction is made after the race.. If it is a shortie that was scratched you are getting inflated odds about whatever you back in running but you are getting diddled if you lay in running on one of these races.

Caveat aleo.

Don't they resettle the market later?

Don't they resettle the market later? No. It was pointed out to me about a year ago by an astute punter who is not astute enough to be in this forum ( :-) ) and it is correct. Today I backed the winner in SCst race 5 in running at 7.10. That price is shown in my account and is settled. I have seen it many times.

Yep, only bets made before the jump and SP are altered. I love a late scratching. In a lot of races it's free money on offer for a short time.
