It was very sad to hear of the untimely death of Danehill in the last couple of days. This horse has had such an impact on international breeding and we must wonder if there are any other sires ready to assume the crown. This horse was one of the more prominent "shuttle stallions" which means that his bloodlines will live long into the future in both hemispheres. Progeny like Redoutes Choice and others are ready to continue the exploits of this mighty champion sire just as have the sons of Star Kingdom and Sir Tristram.
We'll have to see how this loss affects the overall industry but like anything, life goes on and other sires will earn the mantle of "Sire of Sires."

Cheers.

Anyone see the bit that "The Panel" did on this last night - quite amusing! Must say that it seems Danehill had quite a good life in his breeding years - half the year in Australia and half the year overseas and a different "girl" each day - sounds OK to me

Can't argue with that!
Also, getting paid for it!

Cheers.
