I don't know if others will agree but i think this fellow has a great future, i know it's only early days but he just gives me the feeling he will be a great 3yo with more maturity, i haven't liked a horse as a 2yo this much since of course Testarossa and if he wins the T.J Smith even better.
Testarossa,NOT having a go at you here, but Slice of Paradise is actually a 2yo filly by Encosta de Largo, who I think was also trained by Lee Freedman, and was quite a good horse.I hasten to add that I share your opinion of her though, think she has a very bright future. As good as Testarossa?Only time will tell.I note from Lee's comments in the Sunday Mail here in Qld.that he has a high opinion of her.Lee Freedman:Quote"I am looking forward to running her in the Sires Produce on the bigger Eagle Farm track. She was in restricted room a lot of the way today and I am sure she will take a lot of benefit from that run.I was encouraged by the fact that she was so strong on the line."End quote. It was also mentioned in the stewards report that Promoted shifted out at the entrance to the straight and made contact with Slice of Paradise, most likely putting her completely off balance and she would have lost her momentum at that crucial stage of the race.More than likely a jockey change too,as Lee was also quoted as saying how impressed he is with M.Rodd after his ride to win on Bush Padre.Hopefully she can get us a dollar or two by winning the Sires!!
Cheers

Thanks for that Angel416, i will now retract my statement and say SHE has a great future ahead of her.
I didn't say she will be better then Testarossa, just that i haven't liked a 2yo this much since Testarossa.
Cheers.

What was everyone's thought on her run yesterday?
I thought it was an ok run, did come from last on the turn and got home a bit to late to finish about 6th i think, this is exactly what happened at her last start over 1350m.
Stepping up an extra 200m next start in the T.J Smith which will suit down to the ground and have a feeling Freedman has set her for this race, although i think the more seasoned 2yo's might have a slight advantage.
Cheers.
Agree Testarossa, think Freedman has set her for the T.J.Smith,and agree the extra distance should be in her favour.Track rating of dead Sat.,maybe she doesn't like the sting out of the ground.Did not think much of McEvoy's ride, not only in last possie, but three wide as well! Can only assume he was instructed to drop her out early and to me that is a sign that it was a "conditioning"run, and a win would have been viewed as a bonus.Would like to see M.Rodd on her in the T.J.I think McEvoy is a Melbourne jockey only.
cheers
