After a brief sojourn into the dark arts of laying, Schmiley is back with an infallible system that is sure to *make us all rich beyond our wildest dreams!!
RULES
1/ Bet for THE PLACE ONLY
2/ Minimum acceptable price $1.30
3/ 3-5yo horses only
4/ Good up to Soft (5) tracks only
5/ Natural pattern of racing, must settle in first 4 horses
6/ Staking 1, 2.66 // If selection wins, start staking sequence again. If it loses, next bet is 2.66. If 2 losers in a row, wait for winner before starting new sequence.
The theory is we'll minimise long losing runs by waiting for a winner to be struck before betting again.
THE SELECTIONS
15:05 Werribee 4-9 Euchre Star // Sett 2nd/3rd / 3yF
16:45 Armidale 7-1 Another Charger C $2.9/1.48 // Sett 1st // 4yG
17:15 Bathurst 6-8 Pay Zone Princess C $3.25/1.53 // Sett 1st // 3yF
Bank: $3660 (allowing for 20 Outs)
*Actual results may vary from the over-hyped madness inherent in Schmiley's threads.

I just looked up a list of Pat Benatar greatest hit songs and couldn't work out what the thread referred to.
Love (Racing) is a Battlefield?
Invincible?
All Fired Up?
Little Too Late?
Ooh Ooh Song (as in Oh ho!)?
Hit Me With Your Best Shot?
But then I saw it - You Better Run.
:D :D :D
Good luck with it TS.

Hi TS,
If I may, where are you getting your settling position from? I assume you mean its predicted settling position is to be in the top 4?
Cheers

Good job today.

Soft 7 at Taree, Shazza's Bubbles would've almost made the cut, without the soft ground. Apprentice on top though who hasn't won previously. Needs to roll forward as it did 3 starts ago in better company with Thompson aboard. No real pace in the race as far as I can see.
Also looked at Abbreviate in race 6 at Tatura. Bit concerned about the 60 kg's and the $2.25/1.25 opening quote.
Happy to look on today and see what tomorrow brings.
Best of luck to anyone having a play today, yesterday was a rare day. Had two other selections not listed that were midfield/backmarkers and they both got up at $4.8 & $3.
Collective odds $3+$4.8+$1.93+2.75+$3.27=.33x.208x.518x.363x.305
=0.0039% chance of that happening anytime soon.
Thanks Jose and TheOcho for your encouragement!!

Weight told with Abbreviate prob wants 1600+ plus as well.
Shazza's bubbles needs the hand of an experienced jock and probably needing 1400m. Copped a slight check at the top of the straight but never appeared to be travelling that well under the riding of K. Kirkwood.
Blackbook Abbreviate (1600+) and move on to tomorrow.
Have a lovely evening!

15:45 5-3 Marrakesh - $4/1.75 // Sett 1st/2nd // 3yF
Carries 60 kg's but gets some relief from the apprentice M. Dee that rode her last start into a close second at track & distance.
Have a joyous day won't you one and all!

So much for a place thread!
In my search for good things, I've inadvertently found some nice win commodities, thus far at least. My other pick today was going to be Seymour race 6 no. 4 Majestic Duke, which got the chocolates at $6/1.9. I decided against posting it as the 3 kg apprentice was on for the first time.
Anyhoot, officially no bet today as Stephansdom won at $1.75/1.15.
Have a fine evening won't you!

Oh, and lack of time!
Hopefully back on board tomorrow.
Really interesting day with the 2yo's & Japanese raiders in Sydney & Bendigo hosting the VIC Metro meeting. I've gone cross-eyed doing the form!
Best of luck team!!

Facing a big day of finger painting and slippery dips with my little one tomorrow, I thought I'd get in early.
All the action seems to be at the Sunshine Coast tomorrow:
Sunshine Coast
14:40 3-1 Divine Service $2.4/1.3 // Sett 1st // 3yG C
16:33 6-3 Qabla $9/3 // Sett 1-3 // 5yG - improved horse this prep, ran a really nice race last start, 1800 seems pet distance. Has a wide barrier to overcome.
16:53 8-7 Real Tricky $7.5/2.5 - Sett 3rd // 4yG - consistent since gelded and blinkers 3 starts back.
--------------------------
'The Almosts'
Wyong

7-3 Charge Missile $4.6 - failed last start on wet track. Ran best at c 2 back sett 6th
Dubbo
3-6 Ol' Brown Eyes $3.5/1.5 - Sett 6th, blocked twice
Geraldton
8-2 Cyber Crime Sett 1st // 9yG $3.4/1.45 // Poor blighter is too old for this system.......

Didn't quite anticipate the massive storm that hit the Sunshine Coast on Sunday, resulting in a Heavy 8 so no bets.
Wouldn't you know it, the sole surviving selection, Divine Service, won at $6. It's getting a little outa hand here peeples..
Sunshine Coast
14:40 3-1 Divine Service $2.4/1.3 // Sett 1st // 3yG C
----------------
Rolling on, we head to the heart of the NSW breeding industry....
Scone
4-5 Blinkin Rockin' $5/1.73 // Sett 2nd // 5yG
Really nice run at this c two back on Good going. Happy to forgive last start on slow ground, as his good ratings are much stronger when it's dry. Three tries at the 900-950 for three 2nd placings, so perhaps a Tri with 5 for 2nd is the order of the day.
