Was reading about a simple little system [from PP] that the "Handbrake" has been using for a couple of [successful] days, and was wondering if it had any long term merit?

Sometimes the most successful systems do as well as the more complex ones. Her last system that worked very well throughout the Autunm [covering all Sat. metro meets} turned a profit until into winter it fell on it's face, was simply 3rd and 4th by odds from the morning paper for a level stakes win. Brought up some great winners!

The Formline system is as follows: Any meeting but no 2yr. olds.[or three yr.old as of today until end of nov.]Placed last four starts and has won at least one of them.If no contenders, then three starts or two starts. But must have won at least one start. Any horse with more than two wins in their line is ruled out.Any tie is decided by last start finishing distance from winner.Move on to next race if no horses qualify.
If anybody has any experience with this system or has the stats to see how it went in the past it would be most appreciated.

Results over 4 yrs
5% POT

So I modified the plan
Age 4-8 yrs
14-28 days last start.(for some reason , any less than 14 days were very short in price & showed a loss.
Placed at all 4 previous starts, (3333 or better)
Ranked 2-3 in morning pre-post newspaper market.(instaed of 3-4th ranking)this made it perform much better.
Career 4-40 starts.( any longer & the figures fell away)
Metro only 7 days a week.

Results
31%SR Win
63%POT
Longest run of outs 16

55% Place
-1% LOT
Longest run of outs 7 for a place

Thanks Bhagwan for the modifications to the Handbrakes system [that should keep her out of my hair for the spring!].Her Birthday today and we went down to Sale meeting [21degees and a good track]. Picked up on three winners and the handbrake two [but one of her selects: Lady Penrhyn, paid $27!].Great day out.

Watch out for up and comming "Abdullah", [same sire as Sunline], first start today for Tony Noonan.Normaly dont back maidens, but seen in the ring... it just reeked of class and panach. He is somthing out of the box. He walked it in [1000m]here by about five lenghths! Get in early on this youngster. Coming to a city track very soon I'd guess.
