View Full Version : Various Favourite Strike Rates

I know I should know this (as I think I may have pointed some one else in this direction once) but does any one have the strike rates for various favourites in horse racing (say the first 5 favs)? :)

From memory I think it was something like 33%, 25%, 20%, 15% and 12% but I'm not sure.

Also, if it's not too much trouble, does anyone have the strike rates of various odds up to say $10 or $15 in dollar increments or thereabouts? ;)

I'm sure I used to have these pages under my favourites or bookmarks but I changed my computer recently and seemed to have lost some of them. :(

Thanks in advance.

Ocho, I posted a series of .pdf tables on this earlier this year on the Forum. If you can't find them contact me on atreusatiprimusdotcomdotau and I'll see what can be done.

Given this thread is the most activity the forum has seen in about 3 weeks I have a small (quick) query as well.

I know it was quoted that top tote, BO4, BO3, whatever u want to call it is the best odds you'll get around 70% of the time and basically betfair SP the remainder. I'm just wondering is the same applicable to place odds/payouts?

I'm looking at starting to bet some systems in the near future and obviously for the lay side Betfair SP is my main (only) option. But in terms of the backing side (win/place) I'm not sure whether to use Betfair SP or the top tote product.

Cheers (and sorry for the minor thread hijack)

Thanks very much for that demodocus and CosMos.

On the thread with those tables there was a link to another thread by beton.

I'd forgotten about all those on here. I really hope I'm not getting Alzheimer's as I seem to be going around in circles at Christmas times (that other thread from 2013).

Thanks again guys. (Thumbs Up)
