Sending a great thumbs up to Pat Hyland.
Pat is passionate about horses. He actually cares about their welfare.
Pat gave me one of his horses, rather than send him to the auctions, because he knew he'd have a good home. Many may not know that I run a not for profit thoroughbred rescue organisation.
Pat doesn't stable his horses all day, he lets them enjoy the great outdoors and only stables his horses at night.
As I wandered up the gravel driveway, there were chooks roaming free and stablehands quietly riding up an unmade road. The whole place felt very relaxed like a sanctuary.
Pat is 75 years old and still gets up at 2:45am to ride his own horses in track work. He gets a hands on feel for how his own horses are going.
Not sure I'd have his balance at 75 years of age, I'm finding it a major challenge and I'm 22 years younger.
Well done Pat, keep up the wonderful work.

Mike, yes there are some very shocking trainers out there who will do anything to their horses for a win, note a lot of the latest cases, many are stabled all day and develop weaving, cribbing or windsucking issues. When they are done, they are sent to the auctions and end up at the knackeries.
On the other hand there are many trainers who live for the welfare of their horses and give them the best of everything, even try to find competent and capable homes at the end of their careers.

Sorry ET, I thought you meant the video link.
I've checked with Chrome, Firefox, Explorer, Edge and those other links are working for me. Perhaps there was an temporary outage by Propun's server?

Sands,
Yes, he's still at Hardy's Road Clyde North, very handy to Cranbourne racecourse. His son Chris trains out of there also. While I was there, some extensions were being made, so I don't think he'll be selling anytime soon.
Great family, I also know the rest of his children running Hyland Sportswear.

Hyland Sportswear.
Was going to ask about that, wasn't sure if there was a connection. Thanks.
