I have noticed that the Q Tab or Tabonline website often contains errors in the form listings and thought it might be worth warning those who use the site as a guide to form etc...

I was looking at todays first race at Albion Park and again they have the form buggered up...

runner no 3's form should read 009, not 000
runner no 7's form should read 181, not 818 and
runner no 9's form should read 622, not 462

in each case the most recent run has been left out of the form list.

So just a warning - but it pays to check the form of a runner across a few different guides and not just assume one source has it right.

Also the other week I noticed that they gave the placings to 1,8 and 9 in a race and showed the payouts immediately after the race was run when in fact the actual result was different and 5 minutes later the results were changed to the correct numbers which were I think 1,8,7

a bit sloppy from an organisation turning over hundreds of millions of dollars a year.

Not saying you are not right but i know they only show form for races that Qtab cover...maybe this is why it was wrong....and also they display interim dividends before showing correct weight.....interim will be in blue before it goes green

Shaun,

major errors, especially if you're betting big on the strength of them. Most recent run left out?? In this age of electronic data and from one of the big 3 TABs, this is just hopeless.

I have noticed the same sort of errors on ALL 3 TABs over a period of time. E-mailed Tabonline (QLD TAB) re the "inaccuracy" as I was downloading the form via web query in MS Exel and using macros to get ratings. They responded very promptly and were very helpful. They explained that what you see in the non-member section is only as from time of acceptance. The real up to date form can be accessed by login in as a member. So if you have an account, you will get the correct information in the forms.

Talking about "mistakes", when I was designing my rating system I was extremely surprised to find out that the system won 6 tricfectas out of 8 and 8 first placings on the first trial day which was on a Heavy track. Believing that there must have been a mistake somewhere I went back and verified every single formula.

Surely, there was a mistake but what a profitable mistake. It is still working on trifectas but not 1st placing. The mistake was simply allocating points to all runners according to the lengths they finished their 3rd last race instead of their last race??? Amazing, maybe there's a pattern there? 3rd last run, on rain affected tracks?

Enjoy.

hi Super Fox,
I do have a tabonline account so according to their explanation I should be seeing the up to date form - I wasnt

they have introduced another little gem recently - there is now a dividend called "refund "
sometimes a runner runs a place and pays $1.00, yet other times it pays "REFUND"

buggered if I know what they are on about.
