Has anyone else noticed IAS in the past few days.
Not only you can't get the best of tabs, but now there is no FIXED price, only pays on nsw tab.
I would like to know what they are doing and is there any good reason to leave money with them?????

Hi all,

The new IAS sit is at:

They stopped best prices some time ago. They might still have that feature on Saterdays.

I pulled the plug on them when they went to NSW prices and have no idea of how the new site operates.

Cheers.

The new IAS website has fixed prices & better than all TABs, whereas their old site now only offers the NSW TAB. (look at Moonee Valley tonight on both sites to see what I mean)

I guess it's their way to get people to use the new site.

Hi Nevets,

I received an email from them earlier this week advising me that they were moving DiviPlus and Fixed Odds to their new site... It takes a bit of getting used to, but it was definitely worth it last nite when I backed Gem Trader and got $18.18 IAS vs $13.60 on STAB

What they didn't mention is that they're now rounding down their payout to the lower 5c  I know it's only a few cents here and there, but now I have to go and modify my program which tracks all that for me, and keeps track of my balances...

Amazing how such a small thing can really upset people. And I'm mighty pi$$ed about it.

Cheers,
Chris.

I have also given IAS the flick for race betting. If you transfer to the new site you have to move your money which means (as I understand it) you can't use the same account for sports betting and racing. Also I noticed a couple of weeks ago that one of the "Divi+" meetings (I think it was Sydney) only paid Bettadiv on the last 2 races. The way it is going you will only be able to get Divi+ on a selected feature race!

I have also moved my race betting to the other competitor that offers better than TAB on every race. Won't mention the name here as it will probably result in the post being deleted (if I haven't said too much already!) but the name implies they are a sports bookmaker! You can email me Chris if you wan't more info!

Hi Becareful,

I had a winner in one of these races, so I rang them up and asked about it.. I got the DiviPlus dividend posted within a few minutes...

One thing that I will give them is that when you have an issue like this, then I have always had very good service... I've had to ring them a total of 4 times in the past 8 months on issues of their payout, and every time they've fixed it no questions asked.

The fact that I've never had to ring the TAB or my other internet sports betting bookie might say somthing tho.

Cheers,
Chris.

I had to ring them a couple of times and i can say they were more than helpful no complaints in that regard whatsoever ...were they going that bad that they couldnt afford to pay divi plus on all metro meetings..... I dont think so ..Im more inclined to think that they were Sqeeeeezing every last dollar ..... cant see the sense in it myself when theres so much competion out there for the gambling dollar ... thats my last on the matter cos i aint there anymore

Just received an email from IAS advising of the new site and that you must transfer to the new site to take advantage of Divi+, etc. I guess better late than never on advising the customers!

I guess on the positive side the site does look quite nice and does seem slightly faster than the old one although I can't work out why you have to have seperate accounts for sports and racing betting?

Chris,
I have NEVER been paid an incorrect dividend by any other internet bookmaker (the closest was once when a bookie showed a winning Tennis bet as losing but that was not really their fault - the official ATP Tennis website posted the wrong results for the match. As soon as the correct results were posted the error was corrected and an apology emailed to all affected customers). I guess the relevant question is did they fix up the dividend for your account only or did they fix it for every winner including the ones that didn't realise and hence didn't complain???

I also now use that 'other' account too, Becareful. Slower but reliable.

I was contacted early last week about the new ias site and they were offering Divi+ ???

However, they did not say Divi+ on ALL races, so I'll wait and see before using them again.

You have to go to their new site, the link is on the OLD site.

It's really good the new site, I'd click on a race go and have a crap and by the time I got back it MIGHT have loaded.

These people have got to be kidding, they must think it's a joke or something.

I use 4 different sites everyday, no trouble with any of them except these jokers.

Then they changed websites, obviously because their old one was too quick and they wanted something slower.

Is this the Public Service? Are they actually trying to turn customers away?

I AGREE IAS HAS BECOME LIKE THE OTHER SITE SPORTSBET IT IS SO SLOW TO DO ANYTHING THAT NORMALLY I USE IAS,BUT NOW THE SPEED IS NO DIFFERENT SO NOW I HAVE TO ALLOW AT LEAST 10 TO 15 MINS BEFORE TO LAY A BET ON EITHER SITE.AS U SAID COUSTOMER SERVICE.
THIS PLACING YOUR BET ON THE NET IS GETTING SO SLOW I WILL HAVE TO USE QTAB(SAD FACE,SAD FACE.)

29th February 2004, 10:53 PM
Totally agree with the arguments, IAS have done nothing but go backwards over the last couple of months, there old site was well set out, easy and quick to place bets, it was an enjoyment, now it is slow, they have cut right back on divi+. last weekend i needed to place around 12 bets, and i think it took me around 1 hour, absolute joke and will have no hesistation in transfering all my funds to the other company. IAS (closed)!!!. Pathetic...

As a result of their site being slow i decide to bet over the phone this weekend. I was advised that i could not ask for more than 3 horse odds in the same race over the phone??? Yet at other times some of their operators were more than happy to quote you on as many horses as you wanted in the one race.

Not sure whether they not legally allowed to quote on more than 3 horses or not but it seemed strange to me - the said operator was also quite rude about the fact that i did ask for more than 3 quotes.

Dear Forum

You may already know that IAS is currently rolling out its new wagering website. This new online experience combines the latest in secure website technology with exciting new online betting alternatives, such as Trifectas, Quinellas and Exactas, that all guarantee to pay more than the largest national TAB. The site also lets you submit multiple win/place bets on any number of horses, in the same race, at the one time.

In the coming weeks IAS will release new products that will replace DIVIplus and BETAdiv. Currently DIVIplus has been withdrawn from NSW to allow the technical implementation of this new IAS product, which guarantees to pay more than Australia largest TAB by between 5% - 50% on all races 7 days a week, so stay tuned.

At this stage the new site has two account balances, one for racing the other for sport, the sport section of the new site although its transactional, is yet to be complete. The new sports section will be a much-improved user friendly lay out and design with increased sports product. Once this section of the site is complete both sport and racing will fall under the one account.

As our products evolve, our goal at IAS remains consistent. We seek to be the wagering provider you think of every time you bet. We work hard everyday to earn your loyalty and appreciate the patronage of the thousands Members who chose to bet with us.

Alex,

If all the promises you are making are true I am positive you will have a loyal band of followers.

I must be honest in that I have an account with you people, but in the past month or so I have so many problems with your site I just shut it down out of utter frustration.

I have opened another account with one of your opposition and have absolutely no problems with the site whatsoever.

I was quite shocked when I noticed no diviplus on Sydney races on Sat, but now you have explained that.

I just hope when you get it all up and running, the site will perform as it should.

One question, on the site I joined I can bet UP TO THE JUMP even if the race is running late (same as tabs) is there ANY reason (except for laying off) why IAS cannot allow the same.

Cheers

With Stab buying NSW tab that will leave 2 tabs so i don't think that will be much of a problem

1st March 2004, 10:32 PM
I dont understand that if sp*rtin*b*t seem to be doing fine offering maxi-div, why ias dont just match them, why create something when it seems that just offering best TAB dividend will get the customers, and just hold for the word of mouth effect to kick in to get the turnover required to make good profits. they had a perfect site, very quick, and realiable, it absolutly killed sp*rtin*b*t in user-friendly, now they have added so much sh*t on there site it seems to take forever to place bets, specially if you need to place a quite a few. I think that there is no reason to try to blow everyone and competitors out of the water trying to offer super duper offers, Just give whatever the best tote is australia wide, i dont reckon you would need to beat the best tote to keep people happy, just knowing that you are going to receive the best tote odds is good enough. no need to add the 5%-10%, if its going to send the company broke. ( i think i worded that right). simple language, Just Give Best Tote!, No Need For Better Than That If It Sends You Broke!. gives the punter peace of mind.

This is directed generally and does not only apply to IAS.

I cannot for the life of me understand why businesses do not listen or choose to ignore their own customers - their bread and butter.

I've noticed this trend over the last 15 years or so is increasing rapidly.

It used to be that the customer was always first - the most important aspect of any business.

That seems to have vanished.

As a side note:
The other day I bought the wrong cable for my computer, I needed a laplink rather than a serial cable. I returned to the store to exchange it with the receipt prepared to pay even more for the other cable and got a barrage of abuse including "this is not good for our business we'll lose money on the serial cable as the packaging is damaged."

This was not a small shop it is a major retail chain Australia wide.

I promptly explained that I only got the wrong cable because there was nobody around to help and when I finally asked at the front desk "nobody knew anything about computers"

I got my exchange and told the manager I'll never set foot in his store again.

What has this got to do with this thread?

The moral of the story is that punters are customers - listen to what they want and give it to them providing you can make a profit and it's practical.

And most importantly advise your paying customers of changes or new implementations in ADVANCE!

Chrome,

Ditto your point of view.

Perhaps the outrageous marketing success of 'Spin' by politicians to flog their wares, has so entranced the business world that they can also no longer see clearly the long proven axioms of successful retailing.

End quote.

Until proven incorrect, nowhere in this statement does it say that Win or Place betting payouts by IAS will at any stage in the future pay more than Aus. largest TAB [ nor anyone else for that matter ].

It says that exotics will pay more [and not more than ALL TAB's], nothing else.

What it does say about Win and place bets [ surely what concerns us most ], is merely this:

Quote:

'The site also lets you submit multiple win/place bets on any number of horses, in the same race, at the one time'. End quote.

IAS already has this facility and punters are not happy with it.

The fact that 'new products' will replace DIVIplus etc. some time in the future is meaningless waffle delivered with maximum spin. Replaced with what ? A better or worse product ? If better, better for whom and in what way EXACTLY ?

So Max ,

What you have told us here is nothing but 'spin'. What the customer does know is that the product they did have has been replaced with an inferior product that we are not happy with and we are voting on it with our feet.

My IAS account has not been closed [ I have others I can use ], but will remain in limbo until it delivers, not offers, what I, not you, consider a 'better' product. Then and only then will I decide if it worth buying.

To quote another, but lesser known retailing axiom:

'Never underestimate the intelligence of your customers, they are smarter than you think.'

Cheers.

Chrome,
"it used to be that the customer was always first - the most important aspect of any business".

Totaly agree with the comment, but the "customer" in this case I think are the advertising revenues for the major "customer" who probably does not know the A%^ end of a horse or grey, who else but the all mighty dolar worshiper, the shareholders, not forgetting the Gov. to, but that's another story.
Not sure how stocks and share work, but I am sure in principle one buys shares and expects some sort of Div.
The past few years I found the web pages of, or some of the web pages are impossible to decipher when it counts.
Why ?, so the punter has a hard time making decsions when it counts and disadvantage the punter, and lose, and more $$ money for share holders.
Call it an ecentric over-view...but hey, think about it. The punter is now a means of obtaining money for other vested interests, and usualy the "vested interest" sees it as commodity rather than something where "we", trainers, breeders jockeys, bookies etc etc, everything that goes into making a race are merely a pawn, for thier gain.

Like in another post it's mentioned, might need to adapt to these changes if it affects the end result, being, the best possible profit for the real investor/s,
The Punters.

More to the moral of some of these threads if looked at collectively.
In SA's daily paper there was a article where it stated, the clubs and pubs may refuse taking bets on behalf of unfair telecsasting fees, mainly affecting small pubs and clubs.
This is the type of action that get's to these suckers, by "refusing to do business" if they sucking the business dry, with fees of all things, which ultimately is the betting $ which comes from the those on the punt.

Does it REALLY matter to the end result of your bet if one watches the race or not ?

Well things just seem to get worse and worse at IAS... Today, like Saturday, no DiviPlus on Sydney racing, just on Melbourne...

I must admit that I only joined IAS for one reason... DiviPlus... As some of you know, I run multiple systems, and I can easily put 50 bets on on a Saturday, and somewhere between 5 and 25 on any other day. Putting this many bets on (particularly Sat) on the IAS old site was painful, on the new site it is virtually impossible... and I've given up trying.

You have to wonder why the TAB's all have "betsheet" facilities, and the likes of the online bookies don't.... Perhaps they don't want the professional punters... I know they're after more turnover, but they don't seem to realise that 1 bet x $1000 = 10 bets x $100 = 100 bets x $10.

I'm the 100 bets x $10 type, and as soon as an online bookie offers "Best Tote Plus" (however small that plus might be), and a betsheet facility, then they will have all of my business.

Cheers,
Chris.

I see that IAS released information on their new product today, saying it will beat the NSW TAB by 5%-50% on all forms of betting (eg Win, Trifecta, etc) as long as you bet at least 4 minutes before the jump. After that, they guarantee better than between 5%-15% of the NSW TAB price.

Of course we'll have to wait and see if the dividends are closer to 5% than 50%, but I'll still be disappointed if either of the other two TABs give a higher payout.

I am very quick to knock a product but when it goes the other way I feel I must bring that to attention as well.
I had 1 bet today DOCTOR DANGEROUS.
Showing $3.4 on nswtab $4.2 on sportodds fixed and $4.80 on IAS fixed.
Obviously placed the bet with IAS at $4.8 only to be informed on the betting slip that the odds had changed to $5.0. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Hi everyone. I currently have an account with centrebet, but am thinking of opening another online account to help ensure I can get a better price on my selections. I'm really only interested in betting on Australian horse racing for the win and place. I'm considering opening an account with IASbet, and happened to come across this thread from last year. There seemed to be many concerns about their new website and possibly about there dividends.

Can I ask you guys now, after having had some time to get used to their new website, and given them plenty of time to work out any kinks in their transition, would you recommend I sign up with them? What is it that you like or dislike about them? Thank you very much for your feedback.

Happy punting!

Iasbet works for me..sometimes there are better fixed odds elsewhere, but it usually beats the TAB starting prices prices..and I endorse what Kenchar wrote in previous post on this thread..sometimes you go to grab a fixed price on offer with IASBET ,only to have IASbet give you an even better price..(it can also go the other way, but generally I think IASbet is pretty hard to beat.)

All the best

Don't forget about their rule that states that if they offer the wrong odds, your bet can be cancelled at any time...

I had to learn the hard way. I put $200 on a horse showing $7 fixed odds. The confirmation screen came up. Yes, my bet was accepted. OK.. So now I lay it off on BF at odds of $3, ready to cash in, and the phone rings. We are very sorry but your bet has been cancelled due to us offering the wrong odds.... Um, well I have to question how it is that my bet was accepted and confirmed.

They were happy to give me my $200 bet at better than advertised odds of $2.70 though. Wow.....

As it turns out, the race started when I was still talking with them. My horse missed the jump by about 5, so I was happy to inform them that since the race had started, morally I couldn't place a bet with them, for any odds....
lol....
A potentially disastrous situation turned into a nice little profit, for once....

I am a little disappointed though, that they have the power to cancel a bet by saying they offered the wrong odds. Although this has only happened once, I think that this sort of power could be easily misused. How easy would it be for them to get crunched on a shortener, and merely cancel all bets due to advertising the "wrong odds".... (Although I am not suggesting for a second that they would......)
