He would be at work now, sharks look ok on last weeks game and there at home,BUT, the rule i follw is to bypass sharks, manly ,souths and west/tigers and you can't go wrong. I bet on pick your own start when they first came out on AFL. They started on one game then added a couple more , then league and now it's everywhere.Nevets, do you bet on AFL, you can get a better price range giving and getting good starts.
ROOSTERS -3.5 $2.15
NEWCASTLE -3.5 $1.90
might be better value than the sharks.

cheers

I can see your point re sths w/tigers etc however i think if cronulla can keep Kimorley on the paddock there not a bad side hes the playmaker a bit like knights without Johns ... I thought the roosters v bulldogs was a bit tight but in hindsight canterbury were bloody awful against the sharks last week

Can anyone give me the current odds for the Knights to win the NRL,and also to make the finals, although I would imagine the latter would be very short.I definitely think they are the team to beat-won 2/2 and dont forget they play 12 of their last 19 games at home.As long as johns holds up,heres hoping.

As pointed out to Marshy, Penrith are definitely the real deal...question mark over how they will go through mid season...they are a little thin (re depth)
but have proven they have a solid platform under Lang but everyone now will be looking to counter their forwards and halves combination...great to watch but Roosters will come back even stronger! Good luck and happy punting...

They were pathetic as were the cowboys, i had +11.5 for the cowboys, thank god they scored late., OH phil bailey wont you come score oh phil bailey wont you come score , on sports tab you can back players hd/hd for most trys they had phil bailey $3.75, brian fletcher $5.00 and a tie $1.55. bailey was a special to out score him , the easiest bet iv'e seen for a while. Pitty i didn't think to take him as 1st try scorer, DOH !

cheers

You just can NEVER count on the Cowboys winning any game, even when they're playing against a relatively weak team. I mean, they had never been beaten by the Wests Tigers before last night and they were playing at home, so all the 'experts' were tipping them to win. So much for that!!! I didn't see any of yesterday's games. Were the Sharks really that bad or were Souths actually pretty good?

Anyway, here are my bets so far this weekend:

AFL
Adelaide (+11.5) vs Brisbane (1 unit @ $1.85) - LOST
St Kilda to beat Essendon (2 units @ $1.70) - WON

NRL
Penrith (+3.5) vs Roosters (1 unit @ $2.00) - WON
Canberra to beat Parramatta (2 units @ $1.50) - WON

S12
Crusaders to beat Brumbies (2 units @ $1.60) - WON
Treble: Hurricanes, Sharks, Blues (2 units @ $1.65) - Still Running

EPL
Newcastle to beat Everton (2 units @ $1.60) - WON

So far, so good. How have you guys gone?

There are a few tough games remaining. In the NRL I think I'll have a small bet on Manly (+4.5) and Melbourne (+6.5) and in the AFL, I think I'll probably back Sydney.

Sports, watched the N Queensland last week and thought they had the chance to clean up the Raiders but made so many errors...they are like the Warriors in that they are a confidence team and it looks like they are on a downer...

Re the Rabbitohs and Cronulla...reckon it was a combination of Souths improvement and Sharks self destruction...who would want to be a coach?

Backed Penrith (line) one unit and first to score a try (happy with that one) and the Chiefs...stayed away from others cos was not sure...like to take the Warriors at those odds today!

Desi
4th April 2004, 12:34 PM
Just saw those Warriors odds...what was I drinking last night...know it was late HAHA...

Staying away from the Manly game...might put a couple on Webb to score first...
will look at backing the Knights at +7.5...hope Hagan has got the boys focussed cos Dragons will fancy their chances...

Desi,

I live in North Queensland, and over the years I've become EXTREMELY frustrated by the Cowboys' performance. Every year, they say that this is the year they're going to improve, but every year it's always the same result. They've got some good players in the team now, but they just don't have a winning culture. If it's a close tense match, they just do not know how to win.

souths played ok , but the sharks were PATHETIC. sharks ,cowboys, manly and knights are all chances for the wooden spoon. the knights are clueless without johns, they are like headless chooks running around, they reckon they are sick of people saying that but it's true , it's damn true.

Well, not that great today, but I ended up with 7 wins from 10 bets and a profit of 5.1 units, so that's okay. My line bets weren't much good this week though.

Roddick, some good calls there...I never bet against the Dockers so stayed away from Sydney...

Watched the Broncos game...they look a little flat and disjointed...rely too much on Gordy and Lockyer...Roosters may have too much organisation and class around the paddock this Friday.
