At first glance thought NIELLO was under the odds, but after having a bit more of a look, perhaps not.

Will be including the Enzedders MOUNT STREET & PENITENTIARY in the multiples - nice odds currently quoted for both.

Paddy,
Does Mount St need the sting out of the ground (like a lot of Kiwi horses)?

26th March 2004, 10:32 AM
My initial thoughts too Desi, but he did run 2nd in the Avon Guineas & NZ Derby last campaign – both on fast tracks. Also his last start 2nd (over 1600M) was on a fast track, finishing in front of Penitentiary (also in this race), Penitentiary has shown form in Oz previously, & strangely enough (for a horse from NZ), has performed better on top of the ground.

Thanks Phil, might put a couple each way on the Kiwi if the odds don't change too much.

Elvstroem & Damien will win this race.My advice is to back it to win the Derby before tommorrows race, after it wins its price will be halved.
P.S.And it will win the Derby too.

I find the rosehill guineas tricky most times, canterbuy and derby seem predictable, so i'll go for value and stay away from the 3 fav's.

I'm with you Purpleheart, The Elf looks like going right on with it from here...

Under The Bridge for me

He's form around horses such as starcraft, reset, elvstroem and delzao this autumn has been terrific.

He carried 61.5 on Australia Cup day over the guineas distance, (albeit against an average field), got into trouble and still won with ease. Back to set weights here will be very hard to beat

Cheers ED

ELVSTROEM

I think Under the Bridge as the safe option. He'll be running on at the end. Niello and Elvstroem to make it a Cox Plate finish

Cheers megamoos

Very impressive win by Lonhro's full brother - NIELLO!

Excuses have been made for the NZ horses
Reported that Mount Street didn't handle the blinkers (raced in them for the 1st time) & will probably lose them for his next start & the trainer of Penitentiary, said, Jim Cassidy went way too soon. Both are sticking around for the Derby.
