Marshy,
It would hard to bet against the Roosters, the way they demolished the Bulldogs (my team boo hoo) but the Panthers showed last week (against the Warriors) that they are the Premiers and will not go down without a fight.

I reckon the Panthers forwards are stronger than any other pack that the Roosters have faced thus far and the Easts backs will not have the freedom they had last week...I rate Waterhouse and the Gower/ Campbell halves combo gets better every game...Girdler and Wesser out wide...who knows?

Panthers beat the Roosters in the 3rd round last year and of course won the final...it'll be a cracker either way.

Newcastle, without AJ, away from home...they tried to show that they could play without their captain against an inconsistent Paramatta team (who are trying to play a Roosters type game but lack the personnel)...and nearly pulled it off. They have a revamped backline (Gidley bros in the halves, Tahu at centre) but it is their forwards that will have to do the hard work and they are strong and Buderus is playing his best football. Warriors win aside, St George have not yet performed as a team...could be a long night for them and coach Brown...Barrett and co will need to step up to the plate...Good luck and good punting Marshy...

The saints have had the wood on the knights recently , with and without a.j but the saints have a better record without barrett, so it's a flip of the coin.
Depends on this;
would you back saints - 7.5 against anyone?, i wouldn't.

cheers

Still like the Newcastle's work ethic and reckon they will still be hard for the Dragons to beat...the Knights forwards are still good but they need to settle and the backs and their halves will have to focus on good decision making and play their own style and not try to be like Johns. If that happens they will be a solid team. St George's inconsistency means that you are never sure which team will turn up on the day...

Well maybe i should of never come here ..
Ahh...
Awesome display of power by the penrith forwards they just looked dangerous all the time.

My other bet this weekend will most likely be on the warriors for a HT/FT at a 2div

Ill most likely bet $100.

Desi you were pretty spot on with your pred of penrith and roosters. Do you like manly vs NZ ? ..

I am a little hesitent of picking NZ due to the amount of travel these guys have been doing back and forth as of late.

Marshy, read last week that coach Anderson reckons that the Warriors are suffering from a lack of confidence esp after the Dragons loss...whatever happened to admitting that your team is playing like crap cos they aren't fit or committed to the game plan and not playing as a team LOL!

Warriors do not have a good record at Manly and the way they have been playing, it is an opportune time for the Sea Eagles to take advantage...but to be honest, knowing the Warriors- this is the kind of game they could win and win well!

Are they giving odds as to who will score the most tries cos I will not be surprised to see Webb and Meli adding a brace or more to add to their personal tally. But to do that, Jones and whoever the fly half is, need to take control at the coalface and make good decisions and the front row have to stand up and be counted!

It should be a high scoring game- defence not the focus (I have some major reservations about the Warrriors woeful defence- Manly at times are not that much different) but some excellent attacking rugby league! Andrew Walker is inconsistent but he can play when he wants to!

Warriors have to avoid trying to play catch up football and lead from the front early and build on it..if that happens and they get their groove back, then it will be a comfortable win.

Otherwise, Manly will win benefit from a try for try type/ tight game scenario!

Not sure if that helps and have to look at the H2H and line betting...but as mentioned before, the Warriors unpredictability could seduce one to put a couple on for a +12 win. When they are on (and unfortunately?they have not been this year) no defence can stop them!

But who would want to be Daniel Anderson 3 rounds in?

Thanks Desi, we will see i suppose..
I have laid a wager on NZ...

Mesi is out for todays clash... Hopefully that will not play too big a part in it all.

Marshy, should have followed Goldmember and your pick with the Dragons...Knights away and without Johns this year are going to be hard to follow! Got to stop thinking about profit and focus on the stats LOL! Hope you had a better Sunday!

Hi Desi, actually goldmember said this

"would you back saints - 7.5 against anyone?, i wouldn't. "

Which would lead me to believe he didnt like there chances...

I basicly made enough money on sunday to cover my loss on the roosters... so im down about 70 for the week all up...

Not too bad... I did a HT/FT on NZ and took them with the handicap...

The knights v dragons game was terrible.. The knights just seemed lost without johns and un-coordinated.

Ill start a new thread for the coming week of nrl.
