I was thinkin of taking Geelong with the start goldmember, but those stats suggest we might need a minor turnaround.

paddy, 5.5 is't much of a start anyway, as the crows have a good record there and the cats are coming back from w.a , might find it a bit hard this week.

Desi, i think the dockers too, but only 4/18 against the eagles does'nt inspire me to plunge on them , even though they seem to be going better than their opposition. Is the loss of gardiner that big a difference, like a johns factor, because when i see him play, they all fire, they beat the lions but since then they have been crap.

Gold,
Gardiner seems to fire them up all right...

Freo are a stronger team than in the past so the historic record of previous meeting will be a psycological boost for both teams.

The feeling is strong over here for Docker fans that we will come out of the Eagles shadow but that it is no longer down to a single game but a successful season...its been hard adjusting to this concept after years of heartache!LOL!

I picked Geelong in my footie picking but Adelaide is improving...need to catch up with the leaders!

Do you think the Lions will dispense the young pretenders with an arrogant swipe? Saints look very good at the moment!

Nope! I definitely think St Kilda are the real deal, and I'm tipping them in this game. They're almost unbeatable at the Dome. I hope I'm proved wrong though.

I'm a Lions supporter, so I'd love to see them win. However, in tipping and betting you've got to go with your head, not your heart, and my head says St Kilda.

Yes sportz, the saints are hard to beat there, last year 8 wins and 3 losses, this year 4 wins from 4. The lions played there 4 times last year for a 109-109 draw with the kangaroos, lost to st kilda 90-85, lost to essendon 94-86 and a 170-86 win over the w/bulldogs[ 2002 - played 4 times for 3 wins, 1 loss to collingwood 114-111], so they don't go that bad there either. I m tipping the lions by 12-20, pity you can't see this one live[10.50pm ch 10]so i'll have to flick between channels on fox to watch west coast/ freemantle and sharks/ st george ill.

cheers

Any one out there who can you tell me if before 2000, docklands was called waverly park or moorabbin oval.
thanks

No, Docklands didn't exist before 2000. It was built by the AFL basically as a replacement for Waverly Park. Moorabbin was the former local home ground of St Kilda. They haven't played there for a fair while. Hope all that helps.

By the way, we do actually get to see it live up here in Queensland tonight. I don't have Pay TV though, so I can't see those other games you mentioned.

Oh, sorry about that. Yeah, it's amazing the difference in importance placed on Brisbane Lions games compared to other games up here and I know that it's exactly the same with the Swans in NSW. Personally, I couldn't really be bothered waiting until 10:45 to watch a game if I already know the result.

Well, turned out I didn't need the start

Strong performance by the Cats, back on track after injury problems, sure to take many more scalps this season.

Good news for onballer Brent Moloney, X-rays have cleared him of any serious damage to his ribs and he is expected to play against Hawthorn this Sunday. Cats should win that one.

I hope they improve Paddy but they have been inconsistent over the years and who knows what the Hawks will do this week!

Could you just imagine a comp made up of teams like Geelong, Hawthorn & Richmond - a tipping nightmare
