Stats Check

Hi All,

I hope someone can give me a stats check. I have been keeping various race stats (on winners) for the past three years now. I want to check the stats around 'place percentage'.

I have found that approximately 74% of winners have a career place strike rate of better than 45%. I have also found that around 58% of winners had a place strike rate better than 50%.

Can someone please confirm or advise differently if they have kept this stat over a longer period of time.

14,002 Metro track winners.

8,744 (62.45%)Had a career place strike rate better than 45%

6,533 (46.66%)Had a career place strike rate better than 50%

BUT that includes maidens, so looking at it not including first starters...

13,565 Metro track winners.

8,744 (64.46%)Had a career place strike rate better than 45%

6,533 (48.16%)Had a career place strike rate better than 50%

Thanks for that. I should have mentioned my results were Saturday only (S/M/B/A) excluding 2YO, Maidens, Hurdles, Slow/Heavy and races of less than 8 starters.

Your stats are for all metropolitan racing I take it?
