Consider this Sportznut.

You've got the washing hanging out.Its almost dry.You notice its becoming cloudy. The washing probably stays out there.

You hear a clap of thunder.Good chance you're out there bringing in the washing.

Drops falling on the window pane.Definitely bringing in the washing.

Pissing down rain.the birds flown, the washing stays out there.

That $8 you got St.Kilda for the premiership was value at the time you took it.
Since then I'm hearing claps of thunder,so $3.25 is value to me right now.I grab it while its there. When its down to $2.25,no good saying I should kick myself for not backing them earlier.
Yu dun good!.
The best I got was $5.50.Why?.Because I thought the sun was still shining brightly prior to that.

Mo.
p.s. Isn't this fun?.

Yeah, I think it's great to see how other people go about winning on the punt. I love reading the opinions and tips of the other punters on the forum.

And yes, I agree that it IS important to look for value and to take that value while you can get it because it may not be there next week.

Mo, maybe you should have calculated the chance that it would rain

Mr.J
I'm sorry if I've offended you in some way.

They say you can increase the chances of rain if you wash your car.
Well I've never tested out this theory, but I do have a theory on how to increase my chances of winning on AFL betting.
Its called mathematics.

Yeah I'm a numbers man rather than a gut feeling man.
Having trouble sharing what I've got in a light-hearted way.I'll get the hang of it.
I did learn how to put a short story at the end of my overs.
Got me stuffed how that bloke done that flying horse though.

Cheers Mr.J and Sportznut (Put smiley here)

Mo I'm not a punter and definately to not rely on my 'gut'. I develop computer models and follow other handicappers.

Mr J
A punter is someone who makes a wager or bets.
Just curious if your not a punter then what are you ?.
Please do not try to read anything insulting in this question.
I think you might have an angle that I haven't even been aware of.

You are correct in that I'm a punter, I just meant I'm not a typical punter. I.e. I look to bet with an advantage.

Is there any other way?
