Has anyone else noticed that the prices obtained by the OTP tipster seem to be inflated?
I check with Pinnacle, Five Dimes, Olympic, Blue Square, Centrebet, Sportodds, Sportsbet, TAB Ltd, Unitab, Stan James, William Hill, Ladbrokes and very rarely do I find the top price quoted by OTP.
OTP is a great tipster don't get me wrong but his profit figures are inflated in my opinion because realistically you cannot obtain the quoted price.

I don't really take much notice of those odds because I don't have accounts with all those bookies. If I'm happy with the value that I get then that's what matters. I got $4.25 about Kuerten the other day and was very happy with that, but he was given out as $4.85 on On The Punt.

You can obtain the prices, you just need to be quick and a good shopper.

OTP has a MASSIVE following, and prices quickly drop soon after he has posted up his picks.

Yeah, I think you're right. He's just posted a selection for tonight and I went to the Bookie concerned and that price was certainly there.

I'm not convinced.

why hasn't onthepunt updated the tips for recent matches at Roland Garros?

He did post a tip for tonight Primo. He left it a bit late though. Basically, he only tips when he thinks there's value and as it gets into the 2nd week of the tournament there are a lot less matches to find value in.

Not convinced about what phil?

The prices are definately obtainable. Many people often can't obtain the prices simply because they don't shop or they try to play the picks long after they've been posted.

He tennis capper there has MASSIVE following. His record should not suffer just because his picks move the lines to a great extent.

It's a free service, he has no obligation to ensure that people following him can always get the price.

Sure, Every now and then you can get the odds quoted but I check the following site which provides all the odds BEFORE OTP puts his tips up and you rarely see the quoted price. I print it off BEFORE AND AFTER OTP put up his plays.Check it out for yourselves.

OTP is a great tipster but don't expect to get the same number of units profit that he gets.
Up to 24 different books quoted.

Yep I use tip-ex...

You're right in that OTP does quote lines from 101 different books. He has that luxury since he doesn't have to justify himself to members

Hi Mr J,
I personally think OTP is a superb tipster.
In fact I wish he would charge for his tips and send them via SMS or by private login available to members only.
All I am saying is that people expecting to duplicate his profit figures are not being realistic. To have accounts with over 30 books is just not practical.
Does anyone know anything about PROPUN's replacement tipster?

"In fact I wish he would charge for his tips"

I totally agree. I'd join up in no time.

"All I am saying is that people expecting to duplicate his profit figures are not being realistic. To have accounts with over 30 books is just not practical."

Yep I get you. If you an an aggressive shopper and very faster you can get close to or better prices. Not many other people other than a pro sportsbettor would be able to do this though.

For number of books I doubt most serious bettors use more than 8-10.

"Does anyone know anything about PROPUN's replacement tipster?"

Yep. I'm a member  Not sure if Smartgambler wants it know publically yet though. I can tell you he's had a breakeven patch for a bit but has 3.5 year POT figure in double digits.

Shhh! Don't give him any ideas. Why would you prefer to pay for tips when you can get them for free?

As for the value part and those profit figures, I would never blindly bet on all of the tips anyway. He picks a LOT of upset results that I would never even contemplate. As I said on another thread, I take a look at all the matches and pick out what I think are good value bets. Then I look at the OTP tips and if he agrees, I bet. I've found that works out well for me.

If OTP charged a fee it might keep the numbers down and hence the price might be easier to obtain. No guarantee though.
I have heard on the grapevine that OTP have been looking to charge for a while now - I think it is a matter of time.
Nothing this good stays free for long.

I heard from someone that OTP is looking to charge soon, but Guy (from ozmuim) thinks OTP won't. Apparently they make more off the traffic through the site than what they could get in subscriptions. I don't know, I'd imagine they could charge at a nice price.
