You have been a brave man, Go-Long. Was fascinated by the whole process. Thanks for sharing with forumites.

Brave is only one of many words which could be used to describe it Merriguy.
Was it just "paper" money though?

Thanks Merriguy/Imagele,
I am sorry the month fell away so badly it did show some promise at the start. (Imagele)The bets were real, I leave it up to the individual to believe what they may.
I stated clearly what my intentions were in my first post. I shall be continuing but not posting until I can ensure that the end result will be profitable.
Good Luck - Good Punting

i wouldnt bet like this
there are not that many horses running each day that are worth a $100 risk.
the work and attention needed and the likely hood of receiving small odds is doomed to failure..
before you run out of money re jig your thoughts and processes and look for better horses.
also this time of year gives funny results.

this week i looked at road to recovery as a bet and saw it at $3.40 thought it not worth a go due to odds.
it finished about 40 lengths behind the second last horse.
let odds be a guide to value
its too difficult posting a day before and expecting to get value and make any money.
best wishes and thanks for taking the time to share with us.
but please be careful out here in punterland we care about you and would love to see you win.

Yeah, I agree. $100 is way too much to be putting on longshots and if you have a few bad days in a row, your whole month is down the gurgler. Good on you Go-Long for having a go though.
