System C:
Doom 1-6 (P 1.80), Quir 2-4

Well, the Group A Selections did okay, and the Multiple selections and Unitab System B both did very well. I've decided I won't be posting Group B Selections any more because they're not proving successful at all. If I'm not confident enough to make 'A' selections then I'll simply leave the race alone.

Some tips appear as both system a and b? Briefly what criteria makes a system a,b,c ??

Well, it's a bit hard to explain without giving away all the rules which I don't want to do just at this stage. Suffice to say that if selected by A and B, then they are in great recent form and are well fancied for today's race. Not sure yet if they have a better chance of success if picked by both systems, because I've only just recently started using System B.

Lochrene Townsville 3 - 13 SP $26 on Supertab. Don't worry - it'll come. Just don't get discouraged and stop doing UNITABS (PLEASE!!!) Cheers man, Bob

Remember, the Unitab systems are purely experimental. If they don't work out, I'll stop posting them. Certainly Lochrene would have been a very handy winner for System A yesterday. I'd advise against betting much on the system C selections. That's a longshot system and a long run of outs would not be unexpected. When it does find a winner there's a good chance it'll be big odds though.

Great picks so far today (tonight), Sportz. Keep it up. I believe every single A or B pick at my tracks had a horse on the board, and a cold exacta or so.

Thanks.

Glenn,Ist Question are you american and secondly in baseball does each team play each other on three consecutive days,and if so how come the results and dividends vary so much.
I backed philadelphia over montreal They won 17-7,second day lost 6-3,third day won 10-5
how do you get a formline.
cheers

sportznut

Yes, Glenn is American, but can I answer too?

Rabbitz, they do tend to play the same team 3 or 4 days in a row. As for the different results, a large part of that comes down to who's pitching. Each team has quite a few pitchers in their squad and they don't play 2 days running. Some pitchers are vastly superior to others, but all of the pitchers in the team get a run at some stage or other. So one day, a team might be using their number 1 pitcher who's one of the best in the competition and has a high winning strike rate. The next day, they might give one of their inexperienced rookie pitchers a go and he won't be able to perform at the same level.

Take a look at the stats on this page. If you go down to the 'Wins' and 'ERA' sections that will tell you who the best pitchers are.
http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/stats

Now you can look at the team schedules to find out which pitchers are playing and what their Win/Loss ratio and ERA is like:
http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/schedules

When I bet on the MLB, I usually stick to the strong teams playing at home and using one of the comp's leading pitchers. As you'd expect, the odds aren't always flash, but the strike rate is pretty good.

Anyway, I hope all that helps! :smile:

Rabbitz being a huge Cubs Fan and having watched the sport for a few years now I can help you a little.

The pitchers are the main reason for score discrepencies every team has a 5 man Starting Pitcher rotation and because of the way the games are scheduled it doesn't always mean each teams #1 pitcher will go against eachother.

The other reason for the discrepencies could just simply go down to on and off days for the hitters. Alot of guys would get a hit 28-31% of there at bats which leaves alot of other occasions when they don't so that can be another reason.

Another one could have to do with the Relief Pitchers who would come in when the Starters get tired most teams would have 1 or 2 good relief guys and they don't want them to be worn out to early in the season they play 164 games so they have to be careful not to get there Bullpen burnt out early in the season. So with saying that they won't use there best Relief guys all the time.

Hope that helps you out a little.

This American isn't much of a baseball fan. I lean towards NFL and college football as my sport other than horseracing. I think the excellent answers already given here
explain the scenario. Plain old dumb luck determines the outcome of games sometimes also.

Glen just out of interest who do you follow in the NFL I have been a Bears fan for about 14 years now haven't had alot to cheer about in that time but they look to be on the improve with a couple of strong drafts lately.

The NFL would be my favourite out of any sport and has been for quite awhile now lost in terest in most sports over here.

Guys, sorry with the delay on the tips today. I had problems posting. For some reason, when you take longer than a certain amount of time to submit your post on this forum, everything you've written gets deleted. That's what happened to me today. I had all the tips and Unitab selections typed up, but I'd obviously taken too long doing it and they all got deleted. So then I had to go back and work them all out again. Unfortunately that meant that when I finally managed to submit my post, two of the Unitab selections had already won, one of them paying $9 !!!

I can't believe it!!! I picked Zabeat in my multiples at it's last start and it did nothing so I left it out today. Well, I had 1st, 3rd and 4th in my tips and the first 4 including Zabeat has paid $27400.

A great result on the last race at Flemington though! :smile:

A good day for my tips today with 9 wins from 12 races. Hopefully, it can continue. The multiples were disappointing, but I did manage to get the first 4 on Sunshine Coast race 6. The System selections were also disappointing today. I definitely need to tighten up the rules a bit on them.

By the way, I made a mistake when I originally posted my tips today. In my longshots I had Sandown race 9-2. Well, it was actually meant to be Werribee race 9-2. Werribee was the only venue that actually had 9 races today.

Well, my tips didn't do very well today, but it was good to see the systems do okay. The Unitab System did quite well today, thanks to Tanjil Mist, while the Tipsters System just came out on top after a great start. With the Tipsters System, I personally recommend a strategy of betting until you are in profit at each venue.

have you ever done the figures for your win strikerate ?? you seem to do very well ..especially condidering you tip every day..

sportznut

Well, from past results, it has worked out at about 45-50% of races where I have the winner in my top 2 picks. Not too bad I guess considering they're not always favourites. I've actually been disappointed with how I've gone since I started posting tips on here. I think I can do much better. I had a great day on Sunday getting 9 winners from 12 races. I wish every day was like that.

By the way, did anyone back Navy Lady in the 1st at Ballarat. It was a selection for Unitab System C and paid $20!!! :grin:

Hi sports, great selecting again.
Your Unitab A system is obviously based on the 100 rated horse may i ask what criteria you use for selecting only those races and excluding the rest. Cheers Kiwi.

sportznut
6th July 2004, 01:29 PM
Well, I don't want to give away the rules, not just yet anyway, but I can give you some sort of idea.

System A, B and C are ALL based on the 100 raters. I just use different ways of working out the selections. System A is based on 100 raters with certain specific formlines. System B is based on 100 raters which are in good recent form and are well fancied, and System C is a longshot system based on 100 raters that tend to be overlooked and can bob up at good odds (as did Navy Lady).

If the systems continue to perform well, then I may post the rules a little further down the track.

What's worse is I had 12 races picked out today and I thought that was too many, so I took two races out. You can guess what happened in those two races of course. One of them paid $4.20, the other $6. :roll:

Thanks champ it makes sense.

Here is a Unitab idea i use.
Fresh-up horses up to 1200m i back the highest rated. S/R isn't special but it is more than compensated for by the divis.

Yep. Here's a few ideas that you can think about. I've found them successful in the past, so maybe you might want to try them out.

Distance - up to 1200m.
100 raters first up which have previously won at this distance (better still, won at this distance at this track). Another idea, 100 raters, first-up, starting from barrier 1 and carrying no more than 55 kgs.

Thanks Sportz.

With the 100 rated A B & C I think there is a level of dividend where they become value.

I tend to use this on 100 raters overall and have a Saturday and mid-week level of dividend I will not punt below.

This method eliminates many bad bets and means you only have two or three bets per meeting.When I reach 100% profit per meeting I stop.Usually by the end of the day I'm showing a profit.

sportznut
6th July 2004, 03:55 PM
Good idea. With the System selections I post, I don't really make any recommendations regarding price, but if the horse is below $3 it may be a good idea to leave it out. What sort of minimum price do you use?

kiwi
6th July 2004, 04:14 PM
I use 3$ mid- week and slightly higher during the weekend.The betting pools are larger then.

Also I don't back second-uppers and horses having won maidens etc. In other words being at the right price they still have to have the correct form and don't become automatic choices.

sportznut
6th July 2004, 04:44 PM
Hmmm, thanks for your idea!

I had a look at the Unitab System selections today and there were 4 that were less than $3 at jump time for no wins and 3 placings.

THURSDAY JULY 8 Results
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I guess I didn't do too bad with the multiples and system selections, but my own tips were just TOTAL RUBBISH! How embarassing. I really only liked 4 races today, but I thought that wasn't enough, so silly me, I went looking for a few more races to include. I certainly won't be doing that again!!! I also made a slight change to the tipsters system which cost me a $14 winner at Wyong, so it hasn't been a great day. Back to the old drawing board for tomorrow.
By the way, I made a mistake when I first posted today. I incorrectly included Grafton 3-3 and 7-8 as Unitab system selections. I've now deleted them, and although 3-3 actually won paying $5, I'm not going to take credit for that mistake.
SATURDAY JULY 10 Results
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Another POOR day as far as I'm concerned. If you used my advice and deleted Unitab System selections from provincial tracks, I guess you wouldn't have done too bad. Kapadan was a nice winner for System C which seems to be able to produce some nice longshots. The other results weren't good.

I must admit to being VERY disappointed with Belmont today. I thought in recent times I was getting a handle on Perth racing, but today's results for both my tips AND the system selections were ABYSMAL!

Sportz,

Thanks for another great day (evening) of picks. Every major play you picked had a winner or place horse, if not both. 2 AM here, time for this old man to go to bed and go lay down next to my beautiful young(46) wife. The gents that do the Friday night Aussie racing show for us yanks picked my submitted question to air next Friday eve. Gosh, I get a free tee shirt. See you tomorrow. Have a wonderful evening.

Well, I hope you guys don't mind, but I'm going to take a short break from supplying these tips. I'm going to be very busy over the next few weeks carefully researching a whole stack of system ideas and selection methods and trying to sort out which ones are likely to produce the best long-term results. Hopefully, I will have everything sorted out by Aug 1, so I can start afresh in the new racing season.

Hi kiwi,

I'm still busy working on a few things with both of those systems, but as soon as I feel confident that I have the rules just right, I'll be in touch.
