Has anyone had any success at playing baccarat? I am looking at a system at the moment that is doing okay. Just wondered if anyone else has any suggestions or has found a successful system?

'systems' don't work. To beat baccarat, you need to have a good idea of what cards the dealer or player is likely to receive. There is no way to be able to profit by just varying bet size. You need an advantage, which is something a betting system won't provide.

I'm not varying bet size. I am betting level stakes. Sometimes I may have one bet in an hour sometimes three or four but the thing is I'm winning. Okay it may not last only time will tell.
Most people find the need to make as much as they can. They think they are on a roll and eventually lose. If I can walk away with $40 a day I am more than happy. I certainly can't do that with horse racing no matter how hard I try.

That's because baccarat only has a 1% house edge. GGs house edge is MUCH higher.

Your own experiences aren't enough to prove whether you have an advantage or not when you bet. You'd need to do test a very large sample for a statistically significant result.

That said, you may very well win by just placing a couple of bets per hour. You are playing very few hands, so the variance will be greater. While the bets you are placing probally have negative expectation, you still have a reasonable chance of walking away a winner.

If you want to profit off gambling, why not pick up poker or something?

Mr J,
It's far easier to play baccarat than poker as I can walk from table to table looking at the score cards and then betting when the time is right. I have also been collecting score cards after people leave the tables and am collating the data so in time I will have a comprehensive data base. I have been to the casino three times today ( I live nearby) and have won each time.

Hi Kiwiguy,

Is the system you are using your own, or a purchased/commercial one?

Hi Lenny,
It is my own system made from obsevations after hours of watching the game being played. The system is as simple as ABC but most people couldn't be bothered doing it because of the time between suitable bets. Most people want action. I want a return on my investment and am prepared to wait for the right time to lay my bet. Since monitoring this system (two weeks) there have been 64 winning bets, 33 break even bets and 15 losing bets.

Hey Kiwiguy,

If she's working for you mate keep at it. Instant gratification generally kills most punters.

Cheers

Thanks squirter.
Today was my best to date and I still have this evening to go. I have noticed a change in that the winning bets are not as consistent as when I first started the system. Maybe it's just a short term phenomenon....or maybe not. I hope it isn't going the way that most horse racing systems seem to go.
