Thoughts on the race anyone???
My view is that Gai has over raced him and ruined what could've been a champion...
interesting to see what Alinghi does this afternoon

Quite simliar to her brilliant blue diamond win, but looks even better!
Lets hope Freedman has got her ready to go for the Spring

Gai sucks for some reason her good young horses never really comeback again take that how you will.
I was just happy to see Fastnet Rock win very easily even if it was what looks to be just a decent field right now.
Alinghi was a great run but I will say the same for that field to they were average very good win just an average field I think.

i have always felt that gai's horses are one of the reasons that good horses have so little longevity in sydney.
i follow listed horses and they seem to disappear so quickly that you hardly get used to the names of them.
it could be argued that the money counts but somehow if your;re keen (as an owner) to be in racing it would be nice to have a horse for 3 or 4 years of racing.
sadly many sydney horses dont make it past 1 or two seasons.
this may be an illusion and common to all places but i think the topliners seem to be one day wonders in a lot of cases.

Topsy I agree totally with what you said I have no idea why but Gai young horses really never comeback at all which trust me doesn't bother me to much cause I doubt there is a person in Australian racing that I despise more.
Whether the horses simply do not come back up or there was no improvement left in them from there 2yo days or with there are other reasons who knows for sure.
This is where I have always admired what John Hawkes has accomplished with horses like Crawl, Flavour and Sports they were all successful deep into there careers and just keep producing he doesn't seem to really wear his horses out early.

maybe being ridden on the speed isnt his go anymore....maybe they'll try and settle him and acually see if he has a sprint,,,they have to try something..

I'm on your side Raw. MacLauchlan in Qld is another one who overraces his youngsters.

Guys, check out the sectionals on http://www.sportscolour.com.au. Makes for interesting reading. Dance Hero recorded the slowest sectionals of all runners. Whats that all about?

Remember Excellerator - great 2yo - came back as a 3yo - under expectations - spelled then came back and won a few good races.
I think Dance Hero after a decent spell will come back ok. I think it just hasn't had enough time off after what was a long 2yo campaign.
