keep in mind that one of the most important things in today's game is deck penetration. in sydney, you get crappy penetration of 65% and the game is very hard to beat.

Very true. You wouldn't bother at Star City.

As to the only way to gain an advantage without cheating, that is not true. You can gain an advantage at Video Poker. Very good way to get comps...

As to the cheating, it's only cheating if you get caught. The penalties aren't that severe. With some caution, it'd be impossible to make a case against you. Even if they could, with a decent lawyer yoy might get off with serving little or no time. Very acceptable risks.

I also forget to mention controlling the die in craps and roulette prediction. These skills take ALOT of practice to develop though.

You are also missing another decent advantage play...to enter the prize draws. I enter every single one, and won 2 last year. All between $5-$10k. Not bad considering the lack of risk. They produce a decent EV.

It all about probability. Say 400 people enter each prize draw. Say only 300 people are present. that gives you a 1 in 300 chance of winning, or 0.33%. Say there are 3 draws for each (3 places), that gives you a 1% chance. That means you will get a prize once every 100 draws (on average). Since there are roughly 150 draws/year, you will win 1.5 prizes/year. Say the prize average is about 8k, and you spend 1 hour at each draw, you have an EV of $53 each draw.

Normally there are less than 400 entries, and quite often a draw will hand out more than 3 places, so results will probally be better. All I know is I picked up nearly 20k at Star City from the prizes alone. Just a shame BJ pen is bad, and they have no VP machines.

It IS possible to count the spanish 21 (pontoon) games, but isn't really worth it. It's a pain, you will do a lot of standing around if you're wonging, as high counts don't happen nearly as often. They are very nice when they do though. One good thing is that there is absolutely no heat, and also allows massive spreads. The house edge isn't that much worse than aussie BJ anyway.
