Sandgroper, what are your thoughts for PR8-11 Nancina, and CR (Kal) 8-6 Mungbean??

Good morning partypooper, doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun

Not sure if Sir Bollinger or Miss Copycat are backing up after their good efforts on Thursday, if not would certainly make the task easier for Mungbean. Depends how he’s ridden too, does best when settled back a bit. You’ll note some of his poorer runs have been when ridden up near the lead. Has had 3 runs following a short spell so should now be race fit. Met Miss Copycat 2 starts back over 1600M at Belmont, beaten 2.5 lengths. Was ridden back in the field that day and finished strongly. There’s now a 2 length turnaround on that race in Mungbean’s favour, but admittedly Miss Copycat has another win under her belt. A strong place chance at least you would think and if either or both Sir Bollinger or Miss Copycat don’t backup, his chances would be improved dramatically.

On her very best form Nancina could win the last. I have her rated in my top 4, but she has only won 2 of 16 and has performed best in fillies and mares events. Having said that, the last race is not overly strong. Like Mungbean does best when allowed to settle back a bit. Step up in distance to her advantage. Could easily be a PPM EW special!

sandgroper, thanks for that, maybe a small win and a decent place bet on both!!! Good luck.

No joy partypooper

Nancina taken via the cape by Arnold rounding the turn, didn't help the cause any. Didn't hear the last at Kal, see Miss Copycat won again. Mungbean unplaced. Thought it would at least run a place in that field. Was it ridden back in field?

Sandgroper, didn't hear the last at kal iether, was shocked to see it unplaced though. They were only fun bets, that weren't much fun!!
had 4 place bets (decent) but Cat In A Hat , ensured a losing day even with 3 strikes.$1.40, $1.20, $1.30. Bit of a shock to see Violent Wind "BLOW" em' away as well!

yep open race for sure - $1 EW Nancina, can place.
Mogul - strong EW chance, little doubt 2nd-up. Interersting runner Who Did It, winner 5/10 NSW.
Uncle Brian - Also strong EW chance but won't want to get too far back.
Brigalow if allowed to lead, would be very hard to catch.

Sandgroper. thanks for your thoughts, a good day in the end ,.... very satisfying to get one exactly right!! 2 very decent place bets as well!!

No worries partypooper.
Nancina a bit out of class, ran a pretty good race for the rank outsider. Takes her a while to warm up, perhaps over more distance.
Mogul’s 2nd-up record has not been that flash in the past hence the little doubt. Should go on with it from now. Money around for Who Did It, blew the start, watch. Uncle Brian got too far back, don’t think it was planned, copped an early check. Brigalow got a bit of a buffet on jumping, Dan then settled before sweeping to the lead, great ride. Brigalow racing with a lot of zest for an 8YO.
Talking about decent place bets, assume you were on Bonnie Brae and Corporate Sam. How Maximus Munius started favourite in CS’s race I’ll never know. Midweek to Sat syndrome I suspect. Unless they drop a lot in weight (eg. Stockie's Yarn) I treat with caution.

Sandgroper,
noticed the race times/sectionals were quick. That track copped a lot of rain last 2 months but has recovered like the great all-weather track it is.

dont back uncle brian in open company. He's honest as the day is long but he isnt up to. maybe a very weak open company race.

partypooper

umrum, thanks for that ,.... I was starting to think that maybe it's one of those nags that you just back every run, pick up a couple of wins and hopefully show a profit!!

Sandgroper, would you say that Uncle Brian qualifies as a PPM special?? (Partypoopers Plum Movers, that is)

Not sure about special, but looks to have a strong EW chance, in a very open race.

Had a bit on for a place (Uncle Brian) myself on Saturday. Threw my ticket away as soon as he was settled just off the pace.

Can't work it out sometimes, one minute he's being ridden back in the field, next minute, up running 5th or so, with the speed on.

partypooper

demister jay, yes as I said I think in this case you just have to back it every time, and overall there will be a profit, but not the most professional approach I know. Found Sarah's Spirit and Top Lob for the place though, so not all that bad.

Sandgroper, no worries, in fact I went off a couple of em (thankfully) my best bet = Corrugated Iron. my 4 place bets not so good though with Magic Pass and Prince of Vasac putting the mockers on the day (both 4th would you believe) despite finding Relocate, and Beyond Dispute
