Interesting article on Page 2 of the Racing Post. Headline 'Jockey Club sides with exchanges in war of words over integrity.'

Summary of what Christopher Foster (JC executive director) said yesterday....

1. Corruption occured before exchanges.
2. Traditional bookmakers provided limited co-operation to catch cheats.
3. Exchanges provide bad short term publicity for racing by highlighting corruption.
4. The exchange audit trial is the key to protect the integrity of racing.
5. Perphas for the first time the JC has a effective deterrent against future malpractice.
6. The MOU with bookmakers is a knock on effect of the start of exchanges.
7. Longterm the integrity of racing will be enhanced.

The only argument left for the TAB's is that they don't want to give up their monopoly, but they are never going to admit to that.
