View Full Version : place staking plan

There seems to be much interest in staking plans at the moment. Can anyone help me out please? I only punt for the place. My average dividend is around the $2 mark and I have a 40-45% strike rate. Any suggestions on a viable staking plan or am I expecting too much from my low strike rate?

Others will have thier opinion of this but here is mine...yes your strike rate is a bit low but you could still make money....how much depends on what you are willing to start with
Example
10.000
betting 3% a selection 10 selections a week
at your quoted amounts bet $300x6@$2 = $3600
profit= $600 50% of this goes back in the bank thats $300
stay at the 3% of 10.000 for the ten weeks then readjust your amount example of above would be $13.000 betting $390 thats a 33% increase in stakes resulting in an increase of profits 10 selection @$390 a selectionX 6 @$2 equals return $4680-$3900=$780 50% back in the bank leaves you $390....i know this is not exactly a weekly wage but if you could do this on a regular basis and increase your bank by 30% every ten weeks statring with that $10.000 by the end of the first year your bank is at $37.129 and you are earning $1100.00 a week and adding another $1100.00 to the bank.

Now we all know things don't run as smooth as that but it does show you how small fish can lead to a bigger feed

Hi Shaun thanks for that but I had my percentage strike rate wrong; sorry. It is just over 40%. I guess this makes a diference eh? I have edited my post and now have the correct info.

Also look under 9/4 staking plan there is a couple of other plans there for you to look at

Bhagwan thanks for that but still not convinced from looking at those ideas that it will overcome a long losing streak which we all get from time to time. Generally my longest losing streak is around 5 but after a win there may be another losing streak of five before getting maybe six winers in a row. Doomed huh? No good going for win bets as the strike rate drops dramatically.

Hi Four Legs.

There is a long and interesting thread on this subject at

http://www.propun.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=1634&forum=7

I particularly like the Testarossa plan; but as you will see it looks, ideally, for an 80% strike rate. However he only scores about $1.30 on average. Your $2.00 is far superior.

I will leave it to the maths gurus to compare! However you might like to give a few hints as to how you average $2.00 for your selections. That's a pretty good place return. I suspect it might restrict you to Saturday class races??

Cheers

Thanks Merriguy I will have a look at that thread later on. I don't wish to give out too much information at this stage as to how I pick my bets. Firstly because my method may fall in a hole like most do and I don't want to give false hope and secondly if it is a winner then I would rather keep it to myself meantime. I will say this though that it is a combination of factors from the ratings of Tabonline.com.au and nvo.com/racing along with the "prepost" market from tabformthewest.com.au Not sure of the official names of these sites but they are the ones I use.

testarossa's plan included several series of all-ups which worked well with a high strike rate. It leverages your bets and increases the bank dramatically but only because the high strike rate. In this case a deadset no-no.regards Beton

beton, quite frankly I have to agree with you. My strike rate is far too low. Cheers

if you can get above a breakeven point then the plan i outlined will serve you well with out to much worry as to the bank being eaten....even backing favs produces a strike rate of 65% with average price of $1.60...yes testas system is good...if you have the selections to back it up

Bhagwan, thanks again. I like your crusher staking plan. Will monitor it over the coming weeks and see how it performs on my selections. That is if my system holds up lol.
