Just wondering who does this for a living. I actaully have a full time job,Gambling for me has taken alot of time in my life but the best part of it is that sports is so great to watch. before i wasnt big on sports, but today i watch everything from f1 to cricket.

I'm trying to read between the lines in your postings, thefan, and I'm seeing a person who is losing a little bit more money than he can really afford.
Best saying I've ever heard, but have trouble putting into practise myself,is "IF IT'S NO LONGER FUN,WALK AWAY".
The door will always be open when you come back!
The TAB door that is!

Yes it is actually,I have been turning over $100,000 in profit for the last 8 years since I lost my job as Elle Macphersons personal masseur.I do not put the bets on myself but have a team of girls which I found at HOOTERS
who loved to come around to my house and spray each other with the garden hose,as good as that was to watch I thought they could be put to better use.One of my better bets was $10000 on Port Adelaide to win by more than forty points at $9.25 and a prepost double on
Econsul($151-Caulfield Guineas)all up Elvestroem ($21 Caulfield cup)which netted me $3171 X $100=$317,100
So you can see the fan and others such as mo and Sportznut,Mr J etc is that you can do quite well out of this punting caper.

You know I just had the strangest dream/fantasy in which I was retired and just living off punting.
Seriously if I was relying on punting to supply my income solely,Id be living by the side of the road in a shoebox, like a monty python skit.People do it Ive heard.I think you need two things MONEY AND PATIENCE

Tis my only source of income thefan. I like it because of the tax free returns. My biggest issue is the boredom of having to sit in front of a computer all day. My biggest worry is getting cut off by these big corporates who dont like winning punters betting with them. Other than this it is not the worst job in the world.

Cheers

Sure. A bit about what AssumeTheCrown said,
you'll spend alot of time in front of the computer. So instead I pay other guys to do the hard work while I just shop for lines, get bonuses etc and place the bets.

I do AFL/NRL and S12 myself though (which takes up 7+ months of the year. They only take up around half an hour each week though, more in the beginning of the season thanks to outrights. My other betting takes up maybe 10-15mins 3-4 times a day. I'll spend around an hour going through a few different forums.

It doesn't have to take up alot of time, it just depends how much of it you do yourself, and whether you can trust/afford anyone else to do some of the work for you.

Mr J, are the other people you get to take some of the work load sports packages or your own "employees"

A good chunk comes from packages of this site (mlb & tennis, around 1100 to 1400 bets).

The rest (apart from my own picks) come from guys I know, exchange info with etc.
