Hi All - I'm new to the forum - have been reading some of the stuff for a few weeks and have been amazed by some of the sutff I've seen here. Things and ideas I would never have thought of trying. Looking forward to reading more of your ideas.

Unfortunately 2 of the best forum contributors, Equine Investor and becareful don’t post here anymore!
(well at least not under those names)
Worth reading some of their old posts, just use this forums search facility.
Suggest you enter some subject matter as a search string and if you spot any results for the above 2 give them a read.

Thanks Darky
I haven't been through all the threads etc. But there was one - to do with the 100 raters on the Tabonline site/over $9 that I've been keeping a bit of an eye on. Making a few little adjustments here and there. Once I think it might be OK maybe someone could run it through a database to see how it looks.
But like you said there a lot of things worth looking at

Thanks Rogan Josh
I'll check those posts out when I get a chance. Certainly willing to check out other peoples views and opinions. There might be some older system laying dormant somewhere that needs a few little changes and it's a worldbeater. Well it's nice the dream anyway

Hi Big Mac.
I'm Mo,and I suggest you do a bit of research on a thing called staking plans.
The best tips and selection processes can be easily brought undone by an untidy staking plan.
And if the staking plan don't work on an even money type of result like a coin toss, then it won't work on any other type of system.
OR AM I WRONG AGAIN?

Those two and osulldj were undoubtedly the best posters at a time when these forum boards were buzzing with a punting verve sadly missing today.
osulldj occasionally pops in but remains actively involved with GTX. be careful shows up now and then at Ausrace but maintains a low profile these days. I think he got fed up with the deterioating content here and maybe sought greener pastures. He steered me into the Tennis package (from which I profited handsomely) and without his endorsement I wouldn't have touched it.
Equine Investor had a hiccup. He still posts under different handles here and at Ausrace but the content of his posts for me have diminished markedly.
It is no coincidence that these quality posters have disappeared under the suffocating weight of meaningless posts tipping Tuesday nights Dapto dogs daily double. If all tips (and tipsters) were banished to a far off deserted forum we just might see a return to the good old days. But I'm sure this all a pipe dream.

Well dear Doctor.
I'm new to this forum as well, but have made more post's than most.
Didn't notice the thread on Dapto Dogs.Wouldn't mind having a look though.
Each to his own.
If the Dapto dogs comment was in the Dapto dogs thread, then surely you need not read it.
I have no interest in soccer, but I notice that many enjoy posting including the effervescent Floydyboy.
Anything makes for better reading than a blank page!
I've been advised by mamagement on numerous occasions about putting people down.Much of us need to show a bit more tolerance of other people's postings.
Not everyone know's as much as you Dear Doctor,so let them participate in a way that they can.

I have expressed a point of view. The inundation of these forum boards with chronically losing tips serves no other purpose than the dumbing down of punters per se. Others have noted the abscence of quality posters and as a consequence the content of posts has diminished accordingly.
You may not share that point of view - tough luck. If you geniunely think I am putting anyone in particular down then please identify precisely whom. Otherwise you might want to occupy your time with something other than small minded mischief.

..in case u haven't noticed there's been a little competition going on between a group of forum ‘personalities’ (have shared many a thread) to hit the big 1000 posts. Hence their focus has been on quantity of posts and not quality.
Many threads u can see where they feed-off each other, often leaving ‘lead-in’ posts for the next round of banter.
One ‘personality’ recently reached the big 1K and then had post count subsequently reduced (thread deletion)
Came back not long after, complained about the post reduction and quickly went into a posting frenzy to get back over the 1K again

Bhagwan, the good Dr has a point. SOME of the arguments here are very circular in nature and lack any real thought, let alone substance. (Reminds why I rarely submit posts/threads on a certain New Zealand racing forum. There is only so much ignorance one can take). I would ask that posters justify their argument (including tips) before submitting and then debate surely would follow? For instance, I'm not that keen on Starcraft to win the Cox (prefer Elegant Fashion) and have given my reasons while other posters say he's a good thing. But why is he good thing, etc...? On the whole though, I have found the MAJORITY of posters to be GOOD VALUE; included are the aforementioned posters and Mr J (sports). At the end of the day everyone has their own opinion and the choice to view and comment on another posters viewpoint.

Nice place to make comments on posting.
Romanatkoz!.Looks like you are in a competition as well.the user to make the least number of posts.Wouldn't that be fun if no-one posted!Unless it was an emergency.
I think posting is great.
Bit like the newspaper. You have a gloss over the headlines, and if it don't turn you on you move to the next item.
Suppose the major problem occurring is that many of the posts, and I am an offender, don't suit the TOPIC.
Maybe we could all read the topic one more time before we push the submit key.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Have had a few days off so haven't been able to reply.Getting ready to go to the Melbourne Cup for the first time so really looking forward to that.
I was wondering whether someone who has a datbase might be able to check something out for me. I saw a post on here about the 100 raters that were > $9 on the tabonline site and started mucking around with a few other filters. They went something like this
Basically no maiden races or 2yo races.
Sat only
4 main meeting plus nsw provincial usually Newc or Kembla
the only 100 Rater
$7 or more sp
No first up
Dist <+400 >-100 from last start
<1kg more from last start
Btn < 4.0 len last start
I know there are a few filters but I didn't want to have 50 bets per weekend - all these usually narrow it down to about 1-2 per meeting. If all that takes too long then I'll go back over it manually. Really appreciate if anyone is able to test it.
