Being unfamiliar with this topic in your country, can anyone tell me the best source for comprehensive speed figures?
Thanks.

I am a yank, but I bet almost exclusively Australian racing. I think Oze figures are the best Aussie speed figures, I use them myself. I don't know where you can get them where you are. My betting service provides me with an Americanized racing form, with Oze figures daily at no cost. Perhaps someone else can help you find them, or has a better source/type of speed figures available.

Glenn

Many thanks for the lead Glenn. I'll investigate that source.

Hello Glenn, if you are still about. I cannot find Oz figures. Could you please give me your source where you are?

I'm not too sure how Beyer type speed figures fare here in Oz, as our racing is usually run off a slow early pace. (And it varies significantly from race to race). I've always thought that method was better suited to dirt track racing.
Personally i'm a fan of closing speed, and i'm working on a spreadsheet (work in progress) that converts the raw figures from sportscolour.com into readable rating figures.
More than willing to share it with anyone thats interested.

Could you let me know when you have completed your speed figures spreadsheet and yes, thanks, i may be interested. Am finding it very difficult to find regular speed figures for your tracks. The reason i am looking is that the flat season has just ended here in the UK, and i am keen to see how a, so far, profitable system i have going here, would translate to your racing. Will give you details if it works out.

That's cool Islander, just email me at:
blackwind_05@yahoo.com
and i'll send you a copy of the spreadsheet and a little explanation.

I will be happy to send you a copy of the Oze ratings I get, but we only get two tracks a night. Brave Chief rightfully points out that Andy Beyer was unable to make his figures work in Australia. I like closing figures as well. My email is Gleter@cox.net
Regards,
Glenn
