Did we settle on some rules....is it a place to stay in the comp and a win gets you a pass in the next week....what if you miss a week are you out....what if horse is scratched are you also out

moeee
12th November 2004, 10:36 PM
Confectioner can not only place but win!

Rules suggest that your horse must run a place or you are out.
So if you don't have a tip or your selection is scratched,it makes sense to me that you are OUT!
So it would pay if you do have a scratching to get back and repost a new tip before the race starts.

Shaun
13th November 2004, 12:35 AM
I agree to easy for people just skip a week and continue....if you miss a bet or are scratched you are out...don't worry thought this comp will be quick ones you want have to wai to long to get back in

9 COUNT RICARDO

only 7 starters is it NTD in this comp??

sportznut
13th November 2004, 03:18 PM
Don't think so. Media Puzzle ran a place, so I think that's good enough.

Shaun
13th November 2004, 04:49 PM
Well for this comp untill we have a winner we should just say NTD races still count if it gets a place after all money dividends are not what count

Northerly
13th November 2004, 05:12 PM
I think 3rd should count, some tips were done before scratchings.

And I'm neutral as I'm out anyway.

Oh well,I can always twiddle my thumbs.

Don't blame the comp mo, its your fault you picked such a dodgy horse!!

moeee
13th November 2004, 07:16 PM
Relax Chux.
It's not a matter of blaming or faulting anything or anyone.Just stating what is!
Never really liked that program anyway.Only watched it coz there was nothing else on!

Mr ed

Do people with immunity still get a selection next week to try and win immunity for the following week or not??

Chuck
14th November 2004, 01:50 PM
No, if you have immunity you don't tip this week, but must tip the week after

sportznut
16th November 2004, 07:22 AM
Chuck,

I suggest this week's race should be the Eclipse Stakes.

Chuck
16th November 2004, 08:17 AM
Definitely

Northerly
16th November 2004, 12:57 PM
there is more people with immunity this week than that have to tip.

In hindsight, the immunity shouldn't have been part of it.

doesn't affect me as I'm out anyway

It just happened that Count Ricardo was a pretty obvious horse to pick. It won't always work out that way.

Mr ed
17th November 2004, 09:33 AM
The Lee Steere Stakes at Ascot is also worth 125,000 but has $150 extra in trophies hence is a richer race then the Eclipse. Do the Eclipse though IMO because everyone will tip Ellicorsam and it will win with a leg in the air at about $1.60.

Well, when in doubt, Melbourne or Sydney wins out over Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth.

I wonder who came up with that phrase 'won with a leg in the air'? It's stupid.

Good question sportznut. I've always assumed it meant that the winner had so much on them, that it only needed to use 3 legs to get over the line. But I could be mistaken

you reckon we will get $1.60. Get On!!! Thats Value. she should be 1/5 .

Mr ed
17th November 2004, 02:31 PM
You're right Umrum but not often do you get gallopers paying less then $1.50, dont know why plenty of trotters go around at these short quotes.
