I have Ciompiled a tentative list of suggested rules that you may like to add to or detract from so we can write them in stone before saturday and if when the comp starts that when some one has a dispute that we all throw in our ten cents worth till agreement is made . These rules may seem a bit long but i think they are simple and fair so please have a quick read and give us your thoughts

DA ROOLS... MAY I SUGGEST WE START THIS ON SATURDAY THROUGH TILL 23rd DEC THAT way who ever wins will have a Merry Xmas Knowing he has kicked our Butts
1. STARTING BANK $50 (50 points or units)
2. Betting on any sport (No Horses Trots or Dogs)
3. We will use 1 Source for selecting bets and prices
this source is yet to be determined but i think it will be something recommended by the moderators of this site one of there sponsors maybe but we do need something that covers a wide range of sport world wide .(TBA)
4. A minimum requirement of 2 bets per week (you can bet every day ......but only 1 bet per day... can be a multi)
5.A Bonus of 20 points to be added to your score at the beginning of the next week provided you have had 2 bets in that week( the betting week is to be from midnight friday to midnight friday......or if you like Saturday to Friday inclusive)
6.Any bet is to be a minimum 10% of your current bank on the day of the bet
7.Overseas bets to be treated as being played on the date they are scheduled overseas
IE A Friday night soccer match in england would be live here Saturday morning .....This would be classed as a FRIDAY bet
8.Bets Must be in BY START OF EVENT
9.In the event of Cricket or Tennis or Golf such events that may span two Betting days or weeks.. your stake will be deducted from your tally until a result is confirmed
10.I/we would like to Keep a seperate Thread for NOTHING BUT SELECTIONS AND RESULTS (WE can settle disputes or discrepancies or pat eachother on the back in another thread )so its easier to compile results. WE will ask however that you update your own results so its easier for us to harvest them .... IF I MAY we could set out similar to this
FLOYDY
28/11 BANK 56.00
MAN U V Charlton
HT/FT- Draw/MAN U @5.60
Arsenal v Norwich
Arsenal to win @2.00
Total Odds 11.20 (bet)x 10 units
(result)
WIN/Lose .....(ret) 112.00
Bank .......158.20............(56.20START BANK -10STAKE + 112.20RETURN =158.20NEW BANK )
things in brackets just examples not necessary to write in
Any more than one entry will be assumed is a multi
Once again if you can set it out this way or similar it makes it easier for those compiling lists

Alright mate sounds good, thanks for taking some initiative, this will be a good challenge.
I’ve read your suggestions and I agree with most of them.. let me clear a few things up now.
Registration deadline: 19th November
Betting starts: 20th November
Competition finishes: 23rd December
At the end of each week I will display standings to show how much we each have. So if you could please leave your ‘closing balance’ at the end of each post it would be greatly appreciated.
Starting bank: $50.00 – bets are to be made in dollars. No units.
Odds will be taken from: http://www.sportstab.com.au/ - this seems the best place to go as it’s central to Australian betting and covers most sporting events.
Events not covered by this agency will not be available for betting. Fixed odds sports betting only.
Minimum bet: $5.00 – the 10% suggestion is fair Floydyboy but I think it’s easier if we just say $5.00.
Bets must be made before event starts, obviously. We can track this up easily as well.
Minimum requirement of 2 bets per week, failure to do so will deduct your account by 30%.
No discussions in the betting thread, just bets. There will be another ‘$50 challenge thread’ in which we can have discussions.
In the event of Cricket or Tennis or Golf such events that may span two betting days or weeks…your stake will be deducted from your tally until a result is confirmed.
I respect Floydyboy’s idea of the bonus $20 at the end of each week but this is a $50 challenge so I think we should start with $50 and if we go broke then it’s a lesson not to take advantage of money, which I’m sure we all do from time to time.

This is the format of which bets will be made.
Opening Balance: $…
[Event name]
[Bet amount] - [Bet selection] (price)
= [Bet return]
Closing balance: $…
For example…
Opening balance: $50.00
Sydney Kings vs. Townsville Crocodiles
$10 – Sydney ($1.20)
= $12.00
Closing balance: $40.00
Please include any other bets as well… for example…
Opening balance: $50.00
Sydney Kings vs. Townsville Crocodiles
$10 – Sydney ($1.20)
= $12.00
Marat Safin vs. Guillermo Coria
$10 – Marat Safin ($1.10)
= $11.00
Closing balance: $30.00
I hope this all makes sense! Good luck to you all.
Chuck

Plus a trifecta:
Redcliffe 4: 10 - 3,8,9 - 3,8,9 = $6
Closing Balance: $14

Sorry Mr K Im doin it again
I think we should PUT ALL OUR BETS IN ONE POST
FOR INSTANCE WHEN I BET TOMORROW I WLL JUST EDIT MY BETS INTO THE POST I USED TODAY ..That way everybody will have a single post with all their bets in it just need to put say a doTted line under your last bet and the date at the head of your next bet

20th November 2004, 11:02 AM
maybe we should have a new betting thread for each week,.. that sounds like the best option
what do u think floydyboy
Floydyboy
20th November 2004, 11:41 AM
Yep
But id still like to keep the weeks bets edited into the one post what say you

it sounds good but people will be tempted to delete their losing bets..... i see ur point in making the thread look better but maybe we see how this week goes then test ur idea next week, does that sound ok?

As I have been away and missed the deadline of 19/11. Just wondering if I can get in as a late entry even if I have to suffer a penalty.????
I will post a bet in the bet thread if I am out then so be it.
Cheers.

i had a feeling this would happen, and since you're only a day late i'm going to allow you to come in, since I value your posts and think you are a good contributor to these forums (not that i think anybody else isn't).
so... you're in.
no penalty. just follow the rules and you are more than welcome.
edit..
i'm also in a good mood now since sacramento just edged a win by 2 pts..
