View Full Version : Thursday Night Greyhound Tipping Comp (Nov 18)

Okay, from now on, I think we'll have a separate tipping comp for each week. We'll only keep this going as long as the interest is there. Please could everyone follow the new rules. I think they're pretty fair. If possible, it would also be appreciated if you could put the dog's name as well as the number in your posts.

NEW RULES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(a) $100 to bet with each week. Win betting only. Maximum of 2 dogs a race.
(b) Everyone must pick a $20 win all-up bet with 2 dogs at one of the venues each week.
(c) The other $80 to be divided up as you wish, but you can only bet either $10 OR $20 on any one race. In other words, you can have 4 $20 races or 8 $10 races, or any combination you wish as long as it adds up to the $80. And you CAN include the 2 dogs you've already picked in your all-up in these bets.
You're a hard task master, sportznut :smile:
Well, I don't like to be.
It's just that I went to great lengths to write the rules in a way that I thought everyone could understand and the very first tipster does something different.
Yeah fair enough. You have made things very clear upfront. Keep up the good work sportznut. :smile:
I get confused very easily so your rules have given too many options to bet so I won't be participating at this stage.
But I have noticed recently that many times when Sportznut posts,Paddy follows soon after.
I remember Unlucky Phil used to do a similar thing!
And I suggest that if anyone have some spare money idling around,that they invest 33% of it on a greyhound called RETURN THE KING running tonight at Sandown.
But only if he starts in the black.
Or a very mild shade of red.
Probably means little to most,especially Kenchar,but I have a hundred on it.
What's so confusing Mo???
You only have to pick 4 dogs if you want to. Simply put $20 on 4 dogs at Sandown tonight and then have the $20 all-up on the two of those you like the most. Easy.
You amaze me Sportznut!
You're one of those half empty/half full glass person that always sees the half full.
Thanks for the geeing up but what about all the losers surrounding the winner.
I think it's easier to tip winners when we are feeling less tense.
And since we are quite often tense when we are selecting things to put our hardearned on,we pick more winners than we bet on.
I'm gonna loosen up from now on.
I'd like to compliment every body who entered.
Everyone got a return.
Partly due to Whisky Assassin being so good,but well done everyone nevertheless.
No, not really. Actually, I'm the opposite when it comes to my own tipping/betting.
Anyway Mo, it WAS a pretty good price and good enough to give you a 60% profit overall with your tips. Do that every week and you'd have to be happy.
As for my own tipping, I should have followed the advice that I gave to you and simply picked 4 races, because the 4 that I liked the most all won and the other 4 lost.
