I have a chat with the OZmium Management and see if it's something that they'd like to action.

Would be fun and interesting on race days to hear some "real time" discussion.
Also I notice with some interest, a huge time difference in posts.Clearly we have a number of night owls, quite a few very early risers and a heap of people around mid afternoon.A "g'day mate" wouldn't go amiss. It might even manage to resolve some of the acrimony we see in posts.Pre and post race chat would virtually put us in a racetrack situation, where we can have a little whine together about bad rides, form reversals, stewards decisions etc etc.Hopefully a bit of mutual backslapping over "winners"
One thing that really puzzles me is the number of "guests" viewing the forums.I assume that there is a core of "regular" guests who for some reason don't want to register and a few "drop in" casuals.Right at the moment guests outnumber members by a huge majority.Perhaps a chat room restricted to members may encourage guests to register.
"Guests" Since I've been a member of this forum I havn't been hassled by unsolicited phone calls or deluged with junk mail. Most of the advertising done by the owners, (and God knows, they are entitled to promote their wares) is done right here in the forum rooms. So,,join us,, register,,get a bit involved, put your own ideas forward,,,
I might join the Salvation Army,,,Anyone out there got an old tambourine??
Lolol good punting....

Perhaps most members don't sign in unless they intend to post something. Therefore they'd be seen by the website as guests (wouldn't they?)

Dunno. My sign in is automatic..Unless I'm posting something of course.
Perhaps as you say,a lot of members dont use the auto. But when I posted this morning there was myself and twelve guests. It just seems odd.

A decent number of the guests are actually search engine bots/webcrawlers/spiders.
They are essentially ranking pages and caching them for use.
I am in the process of either trying to identify each search engine guest or removing them entirely.

Did Ozmium get back to you Rikki, cos i think a chat room would be a great idea! Management have had discussions with me regarding a chat room and other possible additions to the forums and websites.
I do not believe a firm decision has been made at this stage, but from the discussion I had I would say that it looks promising.
However, with that being said I have a few high priority tasks which will benefit many, especially package subscribers.

My pleasure.
I'll see what I can do to bump it up the priority list but I can guarantee that there are a few things that just will not pushed down the list.

I get that quite often, especially when chatting via the phone or without face-to-face contact.
That's why I thought I'd mention the information I did. :)
