At my betting agency the deadline for betting on Wednesday NBL games is 7.44PM AEST, and the games usually start on FoxSports at about 7.40/7.41 so that gives you 2 or 3 minutes to watch the game and get a feel for the match.
I did this last week, it was a Saturday when Kings played the Hawks. Kings scored first so I had a small bet on them. :p Paid off but might have been lucky.
So today I had a small bet on Cairns as they scored first. Let's see how I go.
Current score: 14-9 to Cairns. :)

Hunter wins. Oh well. :)
No systems are flawless.

Worth a try though K-man. I wonder why your bookie keeps it open so late??

you should do some analysis on it. if the team is leading by say 5+ points in the first few minutes is it more likely to win? Maybe. Probally not enough to overcome the house edge though.

Melbourne vs. Wildcats
I like Wildcats' chances to win this one from the start, but let's see what happens first... remember the system is that I bet on whoever scores first. Melbourne scored first but from a free throw and I don't like their chances.
No bet after all. Let's just see how successful this system can be. I mean anything can win or fail easily in the long run.

Or have a look at the travelling schedule. The Wildcats only arrived in Melbourne at 1pm for a 7:40pm tipoff (NBL you bastards!) after their Friday night clash in Wollongong.

There's another win for your system. How successful has it been so far?

Yeah, I couldn't believe that. I reckon if you have to travel between games, you should have at least 2 days between games. Like Friday night to Sunday afternoon.

Yeah whoever makes the NBL draw needs to be shot.
This round has Cairns playing 3 games in a round for the the third time this year. Yet last round they didn't play a game.
It has Hunter going from a game in Newcastle on Wednesday, to NZ on Friday, then Adelaide on Sunday - hope they cash in on their frequent flyer points.
You also have NZ playing at home on Friday night, then travelling to Cairns for a Sunday game.
And as mentioned earlier Perth only getting to their game a few hours before tip off.
The only reason i don't mind it is because it makes it so much easier to pick winners because the teams who have to travel and back up are usually exhausted.

you guys are right. Why didn't I think of the travel effect on the players? That's an important factor in their performance. Fatigue can make even the best of players perform badly.
Well system is 1-1 so far. I can only do it on Foxtel games so I'll use it on Wednesday and Saturday evenings.

Yeah whoever makes the NBL draw needs to be shot.
This season it was put together by a Canadian company who are supposedly experts in the field. I think it's safe to say they won't be getting any more of the NBL's money.

West Sydney are 1.30 favourites and the -5.5 handicap has decreased from 1.85 to 1.68. Razorbacks have lost to Perth twice this season, on 2 October 125-97 and 90-101 (in Sydney) so it's surprising that they are such short favourites.
Perth have injury worries but oh well.....................
I'll go with the system.. and I said it was 1-1 earleir but it's actually 2-1 because I forgot about Wollongong the other week.
first scorer is..........
West Sydney
guess i'll bet on WS then.. 1.30 oh well.

Razorbacks are looking the goods midway through the 2nd 1/4, with a 10 point lead. Basketball is such a fast scoring game though so it's never over until it's over.Go Razorbacks!!!

you're right there, it's not over until its over.
With my luck Razorbacks will choke it and lose by 7 points... which reminds me of the Clippers yesterday... Winning by as much as 20 in 3rd quarter and then with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter they were up by 12, somehow give away 12 points and let Boston tie the game. Overtime: winning by 2 pts with 15 seconds, AGAIN, LETS BOSTON EQUALISE. Overtime 2: Clippers give the match up and lose by 7 points. I felt sick it was so disgraceful by them.
Also.. San Antonio, winning by 11 with 2 mins left and they let Houston win by 1 point.
Am I a jinx?
Don't be surprised if Wildcats win. I'm a very unlucky guy this week.

12 points with less than 3 minutes to play. Surely they can't lose from here????

As proven by three consecutive steals made by the Wildcats in the space of a minute towards the end of the fourth quarter.

I know I'm quoting you on the same thing again but WOW! Sydney beat the Hunter Pirates last night after trailing by seven points with 30 seconds to go.

Tonight I like: Townsville 1-10 Vs Cairns & NZ Vs Adelaide 1-10.
I think both games will be close scoring matches.

Was that in the head to head against Rillie??
Mate I couldn't believe that score, I left at HT to go down to the Pub with a couple of mates and Brisbane are up by 30+ and the Hawks are up by 20 so I am thinking my multi is safe.. When I got home I checked the score and saw they only got up by 6 - I thought there must of been a mistake. I am glad I wasn't watching, would of been very worried.
Anyways don't know if anyone else has noticed, but it seems like no team in the NBL can back up and win if they dont have more than a few days rest. Adelaide and Townsville both played Sunday then backed up and got hammered tonight.
The last two weeks when a team backing up plays a rested team their record is 1-8, with the only win being the Kings 1 point win over the Bullets last weekend. I am going to keep running with this so hopefully this trend continues.
