Eagle Farm Race 6 #8 Au Chocolat.

This mare looks a terrific bet tomorrow. Last start she was set an impossible task carrying 60kgs from barrier 15 in a 15 horse-field at Eagle Farm over 1,200m in a fillies and mares race. She ran a creditable 5th that day only 2.4 lengths from the winner. That was an outstanding trial for this. She drops 8kgs tomorrow, and its worth noting that Royal Shiraz, who ran in the same race last start, drops only 4kgs. However, Royal Shiraz is best between 1,000m and 1,200m, whereas the step up to 1,300m suits Au Chocolat, who is a winner up to 1,600m.

At her run prior, first up, Au Chocolat carried 52kgs (the same as tomorrow) in an open handicap to go down only 3.5 lengths to the flying Star of Florida.

She's third up tomorrow, so should be at or nearing her peak. She's lightly raced, having won 3 and placed 4 of her 12 starts. She's well-drawn in barrier 7. She is a winner at Eagle Farm having three months ago beaten subsequent city winner Maizcay Miss by 2 lengths.

Get on!
